Question MPG ? - AT & MT ...stock

I'm sure other folks have asked this before, but what are folks getting MPG-wise on their G's. I'm down to the wire to pick a car, and "spiritually" I want a G, deserve a G. The thing is, I can't justify sub-20 MPG these days. I can handle 20 or better, since I tend to take GOOD care of my cars. But I'm asking for objective figures on MPG.

Also, for those folks in the Miami area...which Infiniti is the best one to deal with ?

I'm this '' close to picking one up, and I need some last minute input. C'mon guys, help a guy out.

If you can't handle sub 20mpg then don't get a G35. It's not objective. You will get sub 20 unless you do lots of highway and don't make full use the 280-298hp. There are plenty of threads on this.

+1 on this... my AT gets a mid 17-mid 18mpg... I frequently drive "spirited" though and I live in So Cal so traffic is always stop & go. MT will probably get better mpg.

I'm not positive, but I doubt you will find a comparable motor that will get much better. If you are concerned about mpg you should probably consider a 4 cly or hybrid

In mostly city driving (90%+) I usually see 19-20mpg. That's with me being pretty frisky with the throttle on occasion. Lately I've been driving pretty hard (cold air, car's loving it) and it looks like I'll get 17-18mpg on this tank. I've never done a full tank on the highway. The closest I came was 70% highway and I saw 23mpg. I figure 25mpg+ is attainable in 100% highway driving.

Depends on how you drive but even with my VERY spirited romps of late on my AT I am getting 18mpg worst case and mostly 19.5-20. Mine is about 50-50 hwy/city and if anything leans more toward city. You're looking at about $4-$5 a tank more for the 18-19mpg vs 20mpg and for me at least it is worth it but as always it's a personal call. There are SEVERAL threads on this if you want a more varied opinion just do a search and you will likely get more info than you need.

I got around 18mpg doing 50/50 highway city on my 03 AT ... now I have a 05 MT and doing same type of driving I get steady 21mpg. If you do most highway driving and only sporatic bursts of power you can definatelly get it in the 23-24mpg area with the MT.

Same as most folks here. I get 600km to a tank almost religiously, that works out to just about 21mpg, couple less if I drive it really hard.

Average lifetime (6000 miles/8 months) fuel economy: 19.82mpg

I tend to lean on the car a little. Why else have a 300 hp car? But I'm not particularly heavy footed, though I can see on my spreadsheet tracker the weeks that I was driving more agressively.

Todays spirted 223 miles of driving including 10 runs to redline in the first, second and sometimes third gear, one full throttle 3rd and 4th gear run from 55mph to triple digits, and pulling the Cajone Pass 85-90 mph (a 500ft to 4259 ft acent in about 10 miles). The cost? 9.028 gallons of Kalifornia's best 91 octane designer gas. That's 24.70 mpg for those in Rio Linda.

Same here...about 75% city driving. I try to take it easy off the line, try to keep it below 2.5K RPM, etc...but that 1 or 2 times of spirited driving really offsets that. I usually get between 18-19.5 mpg.

6MT no better than 17 in city no matter how *****footed I drive. AC in really hot weather like Miami will suck the money right out of your wallet. I hope it improves when it cools down.

All local......not much hwy. Like to make use of the gas pedal to propel myself at a rapid rate of fuel consumption (kinda why I got the car....woulda' gotten a Civic or Prius if I wanted to be a frig'n tree hugg'n adult...lol) . I take my family out to celebrate if I get over 16/17 mpg lol....B.Cool JBX

I have getting 24-25 MPG on 75% freeway, 25% city.
I did a run yesterday on 100% freeway: 70 MPH+Cruise Control: MPG~31!
Car is still breaking in: 3500 miles on it.
I am switching to synthetic next oil change and I expect another 10% improvement in MPG by 10K miles.
Hope you buy G35.
