Stimpy, i have done the same exact thing as you have, and the growl is still there as well. By the way, I had an 03 and 04 Cobra.

brasil,
I had a '96 Cobra, the first year with the 4.6L. I remeber thinking at the time how over the top 305hp seemed to be. Now almost 10 years later we are driving 4 door sedans with hp close to that number. (pending updated SAE rating )

I can't wait to see the new Shelby-ized Cobra. Should be a winner for SVT group.

thats funny, i was a mustang owner myself. as a 6mt owner i did notice that the rpm needle will stick for a fraction of a second, with no increase in rpm, when i release the gas.

Although I love the >5K growl, I'm not sure if its great exhaust tuning, or just some kind of clutch disengagement noise. It seems to take a bit away from the refinement of the car (do you feel it as a vibration in the clutch pedal?). The first time my wife heard it, she looked at me and asked "is it supposed to do that?"

(Begin digression....)
The thing I find frustrating about the G realm (also coming from the Mustang world) is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of technical information about the car. For example, the car gained about 150lbs from 04 to 05, but no one seemed certain what it came from? Several members of the board have stated that the car "learns" how you drive, and performs accordingly. Why does resetting the ECU give some better gas mileage? Etc.

Perhaps its the higher number of cars sold, or the larger aftermarket, or the 3-5 magazines out each month specifically for the Mustang, but I miss the more thorough understanding of that car. Maybe in the future, I'll miss the car too, but for now, I'm happy with the move.
(....end rambling)

ehhh....what was this thread about again?

I do not feel any vibrations through the clutch. My wife said the same thing regarding the sound!
