Only 3 Weeks to SEMA

With only 3 weeks to SEMA in Vegas, I have constant wood. (My first time going to SEMA) Anyhow, is anyone from here going? Maybe if enough people we can meet for some drinks and roudyness. Has anyone been there before, any words of advise?

SEMA is the best! This will be my 6th year. Wear good shoes and bring a comfortable backpack. Two days is an absolute minimum because you just can not imagine how big this show is. SEMA is the 2nd biggest show for Vegas, that is saying something. Stay at a hotel that is close to a monorail station, taxis are a pain in the ***, very long lines. Bring a packpack because there is so much stuff, you will get tired of carrying it all in a plastic bag. I also recommend going through the show fast the first day so you can go back to what caught your eye. I hope Nissan/Infiniti has a better display than they did last year, it was weak. This year Honda/Acura is the main manufacturer so expect to see more new Civics than you can believe.

Were staying at Circus Circus, cause I got a fair rate and I think it is close to the convention center. Do they allow those little suitcase on wheels thingies? I have seen them at PRI and didnt know. What is the closest Monorail from the bigtop? We will be there Tues -Sat, and plan to spend all day Tues-Fri there.

Have you guys been approved yet? This year is a MAJOR pain in the ***! They want proof that you work for a company in the field.

Yes, got registered when they first opened registration. I thought it was pretty simple. I have a small consulting business that provides parts and services to individuals and race teams that deal with Harleys, so I had the business liscense they needed.

Circus Circus is not near a monorail station, but is only about six blocks. The SEMA buses pick-up at Circus Circus which is pretty convenient, it is the coming back that sucks, the walk from there is not too bad, I have done it many times. Anyone thinking of going should get it done now. Pre-registration has been extended to 10/18. After 10/19 it is $50 instead of $15.
Also registration at the show is very slow and time consuming. But the SEMA show is worth the effort! For those thinking about it they have really tightened up the rules. Unfortunately I can assure you they are very strict at all the venues, I do not know of anybody talking there way into SEMA.
