I have a new G35X with 3500 miles on it. Recently, I noticed a new noise that only happens when the car is first started, put in gear and slowly accelerating before shifting into second gear (AT). The noise occurs right before the shift point and sounds just like a noise one would get by flicking a spring door stop. The buzz only happens once, is of short duration and doesn't happen again unless we stop, turn off the engine, restart and slowly accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine compartment but we can't be sure.

Has anybody else also experienced this?
Any ideas as to what it could be?

I'll answer before someone tells you to search. That noise is the anti-lock brakes initializing. Perfectly normal.

Thanks for the reply. It's funny how we just recently started to notice the sound. By the way, I did do a search and didn't see any posts specific to this problem - maybe I didn't search properly.

Yes it's your ABS doing a self test.....it's normal.
