Re: Spoiler or Not?

My dealer wanted $670 to install the factory
spoiler AFTER I purchased my car. I have the
Twlight Blue Sedan, and am seriously thinking
about adding the spoiler. Found a place in Houston
that will install a painted spoiler for $270. The lip
spoilers look nicer than the factory ones. Still
undecided if I want to spend money on a spoiler
or upgrade my lowbeams to HIDs.

God I love this car!

Re: Spoiler or Not?

To answer some questions above directed to me:

No, that is not my car in my signature. That is a picture from Infiniti that I photoshopped to show myself how it would look if I followed my photoshop job. This is my car below without the spoiler.

I have Eibach Pro-Kit 1.1" lowering springs not from dealer/factory, but aftermarket. No it is not covered under warranty. I like the way my car looks without the spoiler, making the rear look lower than with a spoiler.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

The factory spoiler makes the car look narrow. I think it's a little over kill.

Rumble...

I've been thinking of the Eibachs, but the camber alignment issues have me worried about tire wear.

What's your experience with alignment / tire wear?

Re: Spoiler or Not?

I didn't get the spoiler. I looked at two identical sedans, one with the spoiler and one without, from every possible angle. My conclusion was that the spoiler looks good from only one angle and detracts from the appearance of the car from all other angles.

I think it's about the same on the coupe. One good angle, the rest are a step backwards in appearance.

On a similar note, I would have liked the sport suspension, but I didn't care for the titanium console or the five spoke "sport" alloys. I do realize this is all highly subjective, and
I am sure you all bought what YOU thought looked best too. Enjoy.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

The Eibach's are great so far. I'm still waiting on some friends to get their camber kits and wheels on their Honda's, so until then, I still have not done the alignment yet. Infiniti did however rotate the wheels before I had my springs put in, but the wear on the insides do concern me. I will have it done before mid August for sure. Damn, I'm lazy! Re: Spoiler or Not?

You're right, highly subjective. I have the exact opposite opinion.. like the titanium trim, like the 5-spoke wheels, and think the car looks incomplete without the spoiler.

Now, the body kit... that's an over-priced useless set of plastic trim bits, if you ask me.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

actually I like the look of the spoiler on the sedan... oh yeah anyways I'm looking into getting either a G35 sedan or the C230 sedan... like them both... but on the G35 I like the spoiler... can the dealorship add this after I purchase the car... anyone have this done yet and how much was it?

Re: Spoiler or Not?

I have a spoiler story. I hated them at first. Thought it interfered with a pretty rear end. When I ordered my 6MT sedan in March, I was adamant about not having the spoiler, so my deal did not include one. Paid 700 over invoice, which was a good deal in this area at the time because the 6MTs were very hard to come by. Car arrives the end of April with the spoiler and they promised to switch deck lids when they got the standard rear brake light kit in, which was back ordered. As I took delivery the sales guy said "hey, if you change your mind, keep it. It's on me. It's more hassle for me to have it changed for you than to let you keep it." I swore I wouldn't keep it. But it really grew on me, so I ate my words and have been happy with the spoiler ever since, which made the deal on the car even better.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

I have the sports package on mine without spoiler, I actually turned down the offer from dealer for free if I took a Diamond color on lot (I wanted a silver). imo, the G35 sedan has a already short back end, a spoiler spoils its elegant look.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

Hey Kia,

I have a black sedan and I did not get the rear spoiler for it. I really think it looks bad on the car. I don't know what it is, but when I see it, I really don't like it. I tell my friend who's wife has the sedan in red, that her G looks "gay" with it. She doesn't like that too much...LOL.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

Ham- that's funny, my sister said the exact same wording about the black G without the spoiler... guess it is pretty subjective.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

It's not just the spoiler, the zero rear lift requires underbody diffusers in conjunction with the spoiler, which are part of the Aero Package.

Re: Spoiler or Not?

I remembered this post and those that were interested in the M3 Lip Spoiler for their Sedans. This was posted on FreshAlloy.com.
