'05 vs. '06 G35x brake difference?

I'm new to the forum and am considering a G35x soon to replace my X-Type. My local retailer has some '05 G35x's currently on the lot and one or two '06 G35x's coming in shortly. They indicate a greater willingness to move the '05s, i.e. more off MSRP. According to the salesman, the '06 only adds Bluetooth capability. However, I've read a post on here which inferred that Infiniti updated the brakes for the '06 G35x to address customer complaints. Is that true, and if so, what was the change?

Also, someone else said there was a difference in the front suspension between the G35 and G35x, but I've not found any specifics about that difference. Where can I find that information? The search function isn't working.

Thanks for any info.

I have an 05 G35X. What I've heard here is that the 06's hav ethe 05 non-X brakes. That is larger rotors and different friction material. The 05 X's still have the smaller rotors of the 03-04 that have been very docyumented here as having high or fast wear issues. In fact Infiniti extended the warranty on the 03-04's because of complaints. They say the they changed the pad material in the 05 X's and mine, at 13K miles, seems to be OK so far. Apparently Stillen makes pads for the 05's that last longer and do not cause the brake dust on the wheels for around $100. That is what I will change to when mine need changing. Good luck with your decision. The G35X is a wonderful car IMHO.

I have not had a major dusting problem with my 05 X although there is some. Others that have owned 03/04 sedans have told me that the 05 dusting problem is not as bad.
Another consideration is if you are planning on getting a set of winter wheels and tires is that you can put 16"ers on the 05X whereas you will have to go with 17" wheel set on the 06 X . You can get 16" sets a lot cheaper than 17s.
