Dont forget I had mods. The quarter for hardtop and G are similar. I believe the 7 wire kit wins that one.

Re: GeoBau:

I tell you what before my bud in Boca Raton bought a 99 vette he had a modded 1996 5.0 Cobra - steeda intake and exhaust with a chip and coil. His Dyno was mid to high 300's hp. That thing was the bomb for starightaway...but it sat too high and was way sloppy for that fast. I had to brake fast in it at high speed down there and about puked at the way the thing went shimmying into a frightening chassis flex display. It was still a blast and i stuffed myself in the drivers seat every chance I got.

Re: Scored and Win/Tie witha Mustang GT

Glad you had fun...stock 260 hp Mustangs run low, low 14s in the 1/4, but then again so do 6 spd G35s...auto to auto will be very close stock, but it's almost impossible to find a stock Mustang out there. Great job either way...coming from someone who owns both, I would take my G35 over any mustang any day of the week as an overall car, but like the other guy said for a few hundred dollars you are in the low 13's and if you bought an 03 Cobra (Same price as the G35) you can do a CAI, pulley from the SVT Lightning, and a cat back exhaust and say hello to high 11s in the 1/4. It would be nice if we could all do that with our Gs...but then again, they are only V6s and a lot of those tricks have already been done to get the power out of em they have now.

lol...Her 02 Maxima is just a rocket...and it's an auto.

I am hoping to run a lot quicker the next time I go to New England Dragway now that I know the car is more broken in, I also will unhook the negative cable the night before, I also won't have a 1/2 tank of gas and I have the custom CAI now too...oh, and I will put the stock tires back on the front half for another 18lbs less in weight as well as less wind resistance due to the tires being a lot more narrow...so who knows.

Re: Scored and Win/Tie witha Mustang GT

I bet wind resistance is negligable compared to add'l wheel weight and diam. The thing i noticed about G after about 13k is the more i drive it the faster it gets. It definitely needs a breakin in to get to the VQ power. Most japanese cars especially hondas seem to break in and get better over time engine wise - except hondas have that cruddy valve tick sound.

The cia will bring you down in time as well. Lets see the updated times...that 14.8 is tuff to look at man.

Re: Scored and Win/Tie witha Mustang GT

No i have not even been to a track other than to watch the brickyard 400 and a race at rockingham NC. Neven in a car of course. I was forced to get auto as philly is rough on clutch and the leg that pushes it and at 6 feet plus the extra work made the car seem a little more cramped..smaller cars like a passat have more interior room that G. So auto keeps me from getting too enthused about track.

Would prefer to go to driving school and get on those indy lites though. Racing at a week long school with someone elses car seems to be a great way to get started. I'd be more into side by side racing than timed anyway so that keeps me on the couch so far as you can't just show up at daytona and get into a race. If I ever leave my woman I'm going to get a Ninja again and then sign up for the local track school and learn to drive a car the right way. I guess Pocono raceway could be a fun place to learn.

I had to get an auto because my wife is learning to drive and will be driving the car... but if I didn't I probably would have bought an IS300 with a 5sp manual because if I have heard anything bad about the G35 it is mostly problems with the 6 spd manual.

Re: Scored and Win/Tie witha Mustang GT

She'd prob leave me anyway! LOL

I bought the auto for her too as she can not understand the concept of the clutch..she watched me drive my 5 speed passat supposedly paying attention and then sat down to learn to drive it one day and asked what the 3rd pedal was for.......wtf...out of the car baby. She has a mits spyder and loves to drive so i had to go for the auto or fold myself into her death mobile all the time. Now what to buy for her now that lease is up soon. She want 330 and i want her to get redesigned passat next year - even after i had my 01.5 lemon repurchased.

Re: Scored and Win/Tie witha Mustang GT

Just got home from my girlfriend's house. On the way back to my house, I pulled up next to a brand new Mustang GT. He revs his engine and looks at me and he didnt notice the light turned green. So...i just took off! The road i was on was 2 lanes and it turns into one. I pulled ahead of him and cut him off. He was SOOOOOOO mad! i kept flooring it and he couldnt keep up. He pulls next to me at the next light and calls me and a$$hole and gives me the finger. He was REALLY upset. I would be if i had a V8 and lost to a V6! haha...it was fun though!

Not exactly a tour de france move on your part but ha ha ha ha ha - all is fair in illegal street racing. Yeah if you get a jump from dead start he has no chance without some mods. Good job making another mustang owner go out and buy an exhaust or intake...steeda loves you
