Newbie- I just got a G35x- HELP! intake/ecu/i-pod...
3 questions;
1. What Intake should I buy? I want a few more ponies and a louder growl out of the engine...Also, where to buy?
2. IS there anyway to integrate my I-pod to the G35 Bose stereo?
3. How do you reset your ECU- i have this chekc engine light on and I want to reset the ecu- i think the light came on form the gas cap not being tight- or sumthing. I heard that you tap the gas 5 times in 5 seconds with the key in the power turn, but not on. and then afte ryou tap the gas 5 times you wait then hodl it down or sumthing.. i am not sure exactly...
Any Help- would be MUCH appreciated!!!
Thanks Everyone..

Try the following three search strings:
1. "Reset ECU"
2. "Intake"
3. "iPod"
You will see that these topics have been beaten to death, and that there is a plethora of information on all of them.
Once you've done some research, come back with some more detailed questions.
Oh, and very sweet Passat you have there.

IPOD/Bose Integration
The only ? I can help with is the ipod. I wanted to hardwire it into the head unit (no FM transmitter), but since I've got Sirius I didn't have any available inputs for them to bring it in on. If you don't have satellite, you can buy a kit to have it wired directly into the unit and select SAT to hear it.
My local sound shop sold me an FM transmitter that is hardwired into the car and I have a toggle switch under the dash. So, I tune it to 89.1, connect the ipod via a headphone jack, and it plays through the Bose. It ran me $100 and the sound is MUCH better than the Monster or other brand FM transmitters you would buy and just plug into the lighter adapter, though not as good as if it were hard-wired. I haven't noticed any static or crackling which is what really bothered me about the regular ones.

The stock intake is pretty well laid out. I'd get a K&N drop in filter, z tube, and motordyne 1/2"spacer. That adds some growl and HP.
IPOD= can't help you there
ecu reset use a clock, You don't just let off the pedal when it starts to blink slowly. You keep holding it down for the final 10 seconds (even when it is still blinking).
1) Turn ignition on.
2) Wait 3 seconds then stomp on gas pedal 5 times (within 5 seconds)
3) Wait 7 seconds
4) Stomp on pedal and hold for 10 seconds.
5) Release and immediately stomp on gas pedal for another 10 seconds (usually the check engine light starts blinking slowly around the 3-4 second of this process..........however, keep holding the pedal down for the full 10 seconds) After you have held down the pedal for the final 10 seconds, the light will continue to blink. It never stops blinking. Go ahead and turn the ignition off after the final 10 seconds. The ECU will be reset.
These are quotes made by others but are true.
