Bluetooth Question on my car
Second post to this helpful forum from a "newbie":
2008 G35x- have have it for a few weeks. No nav. Initially, the voice commands for the bluetooth worked fine. Paired my iPhone 4 with no problem. With no changes to anything about a week ago, when I initiate the system, it does not recognize the word "call" no matter how clearly I say it. I was in the car with my son yesterday and after trying a dozen times it recognized one of us once but I could not reproduce it. Very strange. ALL OTHER COMMANDS are recognized with ONE try. Only the "CALL" command.
Windows closed sunroof closed. I'm stumped.
Dealer says to bring it in of course. I'll be calling the Infiniti bluetooth helplione later but I thought I would throw this out to the community.
Thanks

Try going through the voice commands and having it learn your voice for the words and how you say them. I never use my voice commands but did notice the few times i do after i did the learning it got better. Hope that helps.
Anytime, i dont remember exactly how to get into it but i know its under your settings and i think voice commands. Check the manual if you cant find it. Im also off work soon so if you cant figure it out ill look in mine to see. Keep posted.
^ whs, you can "train" the system to recognize your voice better, and there is also a TSB for ppl who have an issue with voice commands that dealers can apply, but since you have 08 id think you already have it.
I dont use the commands much but if I do forget something, you can just have the system talk you through all the available commands per subject again.
Fairly easy.
follow up
I called the Infiniti/ Nissan Bluetooth helpline. The gentleman was helpful. Told me to look in the owners manual to do the voice training process (confirming what was stated above) I tried it: it involved repeating 25 commands into the system to have it learn ones own voice. Sounds terrific in theory but it kept giving me an error about 1/3 into it that it could not gather enough data to learn my voice (?)
The man also told me to use a "dial" command which does the same as call. [I]That worked fine [I]
When I tried the "call" command again got the reply "can't recognize the command, try again" BUT when I said "Call 555-1234" It understood and carried out the command.
Maybe its just a quirky system, I don't know.
