Car Locks Randomly

I noticed today that when I was installing my grill, that the car would lock on me randomly. I thought it was me pushing the button so i set the key on the garbage can and kept working. Little did I know that that had 0 effect. It locked itself a few more times! It stopped, but it has done it before and I have no idea why.

Anyone else experience this??

is someone in the house w/ your spare key? I did that to my brother when he was washing his car and couldn't figure it out until he notice his spare key was in a different location.

Mine does it. It was doing it on me when I was installing led strips to light the trunk over the weekend.

My murano does the same. i close the door with out locking it for like 1 min or so it locks up by its self. I guess its made just incase you forget to lock it when you leave it locks up.

Its a safety feature with our cars, if your car is unlocked and the door is not opened within 1 minute then the car auto locks for safety.

Mine does that too. Is there a sensor in case u leave ur keys on the seat or something. Cuz my car never locked me out and I leave the keys inside, out of the ignition when detailing...

Mine never does this. Only time this happens is when the fog is in my pocket and something hits/pushes on it.

This is true. If you've hit the unlock button and not opened a door, the car will soon lock itself again. Other than that though, you should not have phantom lock outs.

Yeah I agree with Scott. The only time mine locks by itself is if I hit unlock and the door isn't open within due time.

^^ agreed, this sounds like the most probable explanation. I know I have left my car unlocked in the driveway when thinking I would run right back out, but then never did and found it still unlocked the next morning.

Unless it's possibly a particular setting that must be enabled or something, I don't think the 07 should autolock spontaneously.
