With a vodoo shift **** which will reduce the height by 1 inch

is it easy to remove the stock ****, i have a manual transmission, has anyone done it and can u let me know exactly how to do

Wrap the shaft with something soft to protect it,
hold it with pliers & turn the **** off.

 

Which way do i need to turn the **** , clockwise or anti clockwise-- am worried that it should not break

counter-clockwise... just like any ordinary nut and bolt.

 

To the left, and it's important to immobilize the shaft as stated above, otherwise you could screw up the linkage while taking off the ****. To get to the shaft, you must pop up the trim piece that fits around the boot and crawls up into the dash. It's easy to do. Hold your fingers on the trim piece and push down in the boot area.

I used an adjustable wrench[cresent]with a rag on the shift ****.The **** was very tight.I guess Nissan/Infiniti likes using alot of threadlock.Turn counterclockwise.

Simply attempting to twist the **** off can cause damage to the linkage. It is enough of a concern that Nissan NA put out a Service Procedure Bulletin to do it correctly. See attached.
