I drive a 2005 5AT Sedan.

I was on my way to work this morning and a warning light came on, but I can't figure out what it means (I don't have my manual with me and the supplement doesn't cover warning lights--lesson learned).

It looks sort of like the Kool-Ade Man (Oohhh Yeah!) with no handle and a ridge along the bottom of the jug. It's open at the top. It's orange and it has an exclamation point in it. It's just above the temperature gauge and to the left of the tachometer.

Does anyone know what this means? What should I do about it?

The only thing unusual about today is that it's pretty cold by Dallas, TX standards (in the high 30s last night, I think).

Also, can anyone point me to an electronic version of the Owner's Manual? I've seen ways of getting the service manual, but I can't seem to find the owner's manual. It seems like Infiniti would make this available online somewhere.

It seems to me that you're seeing the low tire pressure warning light.

I'll find a link to the online manual and post it.

It is your low tire pressure warning, you should check your tire pressure. Seems to happen to a lot of people when the weather gets cold.

Albert and yamashirod, thanks for your replies. I'm relieved to hear that it's only the low tire pressure light. I guess now that you've told me it's low tire pressure, I can kind of see it... but that sure is a cryptic light!

Mine came on this morning for the first time ever. The beeping scared me more than the light. It was 42 in nashville this morning.

Mine hasn't come on yet and I'm in Southern Ontario where it's been even cooler than 42F. Are you guys running very close to 25psi normally? I have mine around 33. Just curious.

I live in the SF Bay area in CA so it doesn't get really cold. I have not had the low pressure warning light come on yet. I have the OEM 19s with Bridgestone Potenzas that are supposed to be at 35 psi. One day I was driving and thought the car wasn't handling as well as normal. Checked the tire pressure and behold, it was at 30 psi. I now check weekly usually just after washing the car.

I confess I don't check my tire pressure regularly. I typically just pay attention to the way the car feels, etc., but I know that's probably not wise. I noticed the car felt a little sluggish on the way into work today (before you told me what the light meant), so I probably would've checked it anyway... or maybe I would've waited until Friday when I take it in for 7500 mile service.

Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer, but I'm a slacker.

weird........coincidence......mine came on today at lunch. i went to the gas station and filled all the tires to 35psi but the annoying light is still on. but the weird thing is it's 75degrees out here in sacramento, ca. not cold at all..i'll trying filling them more accurately after work.

I think mine was a combo of temp drop and not checking my tire pressure in a while. All 4 of my tires were 29.5 psi when I checked last night. Filling them back up to 36 psi made the warning light disappear, of course.

Mine came on yesterday as well. Cold weather is the culprit.

But I thought it wasn't supposed to come on unless it detected <25psi. Are they notoriously inaccurate? If not, then I think that quite a few people are running their tires way too low.

For example, if your tires are even as low as 30psi, you would need to lose 4psi (assuming a 1 psi error rate) to trigger the system. In my experience (in Southern Ontario), that's never happened whort of having a leak.

Haven't had it come on on my '05 yet, but on the '04, it would come on when it went below 30, even 28 would set it off, also, once you add air, it takes driving a short distance for it to end.

Yup... Mine came on in my 05 the other day also. Tire was at about 29. I was thinking at first that it's very picky, but then again, it's better than nothing.
