Looking to purchase some rims for my sedan but I can't decide on 19's vs. 20's.

20's would definitely look better IMO, and I also hear tires on 20's are cheaper than 19's because of production volume (is this true?).

My concern about getting 20's is the performance and comfort side, would the 19's be more of a comfortable ride Vs. 20? Would it even be a noticeable comfort difference?

Weight is also a major concern so no chrome for me, but I know different brands weigh less like DPE vs Maya's or Enkei Vs. Axis...so I guess that's a wash for now.

I think I am between the Enkei rp03 in 19's....or the Axis Milano's in 19 or 20. I know the Enkei's are pretty light, I am not so sure about the axis.

I am confused as hell...what do you guys think?

 

IMHO I think we've gone too far with large wheels and doughnut rubber so I would lean more to the 19's. The ride depends as much on the actual tire you choose as the difference between the 19's and 20's. Now if we were looking at the difference between 17's and 20's, now we're talking a noticeable difference. However, not sure about cost of rubber. Are you also lowering? Seems like the consensus here is that once you get to 19's or greater, you should consider lowering as well. Either way I'm sure she'll look great.

 

I am biased about this issue so I'll say get 20's if performance is not a major concern to you.

I've had them on my last two G's and the ride is fantastic coupled with my Eibach pro kit. Very similar ride to OEM but better performance and appearance.

I'll probably be selling these as I am getting a new set of Work. These are coming off this weekend and my 18's are going on for the winter.

i dont think 18's look too small but i would go for 19's over 20's...i think they 20's thing was kind of a fad for suvs imo

 

Well, I am dropped on Eibach Prokit already (1.5 drop)...and the ride looks incomplete with the sport package 17's. The more I look at it, the more I want some bigger rims.

I have 20s (much thanks to Chico for his feedback) and LOVE them. Running 20 x 8.5 all the way around with (+38mm) offsets are absolutely PERFECT for the sedan. my 245/35/20s (Nitto 555) tires ride great, and the feel of the road is far better than stock. I'm running the 350Z springs, and the look, feel, ride, is unmatched. I love the setup and performance.

I also had some 19s on my 2004 coupe and it was always missing something. that extra inch really does set the car off!

Obviously, rim preferences are totally personal and subjective, but I think 20's look silly on the Sedan. They can work on the Coupe because of the inherently sporty profile of a two-door sports car, but the sedan has a refined, luxury quality that, I think, should be retained with the right rim choice. 18's or 19's all the way. -T

These are good points. Wheel design is as important as the size of the rim. I see some 20's that look like 19's and some 19's that look like 20's. It's all in the design! MHO.
