G35 Kit or No Kit
G35 Kit or No Kit
Hi
Just need an opinion from you all. Deciding between two cars:
Automatic
Silver/Black
Premium
Navigation
Winter
Wood
Aerodynamic kit w/spoiler
or
Black/Black
Premium
Navigation
Winter (sport)
Sport Tuned Suspension
Aero Package
I'm getting 500 over invoice on either one, however I can get a aero kit (dealer installed) for the black on black but of course at extra cost. Which one would you get? Is the the kit worth it? How does it look on a black g35? Thanks,
Joining you all soon

Re: G35 Kit or No Kit
The choice of silver or black is completely up to you. I wouldn't want a black car, myself. The Aerodynamic Body Kit is basically a body-colored ground-effects eye candy. It includes a rear spoiler, a different front bumper, and trim pieces for the left, right, and rear. It covers up the black border around the bottom of cars that don't have it. The Aero Package, on the other hand, is the rear spoiler and underbody diffusers -- this package gives you a lower coefficient of drag (0.26 instead of 0.27) and zero rear life aerodynamics. I would much prefer the sport suspension to the wood kit, though. I like the titanium trim on the inside and the slightly better handling.

Re: G35 Kit or No Kit
I went with a black/black sedan with 6MT, so that's my pick. As for the kit, as long as you already get the spoiler with the Aero Package (I think you do as that's what I have), forget the extra ground effects kit. I had them put two identical black/black sedans next to each other, one with ground effects and the other with out. After looking at them closely for 15 minutes I decided the kit does look better, but not $2000 better. It's most pronounced in the front, but from the back and especially the sides it's hard to tell. I've had it for 2-3 weeks now and I have not regretted it at all. Think of what else you could do with 2G. That's my 2+ cents.

I’d say go for #2 (which is exactly what I have minus the navi). I agree with nate, the body kit is nice, but not $2000 nice. Either way, I’m sure you’ll love your car!

Thanks for the replies,
I'm leaning toward the black one as well. Can you really make out the kit's front bumper on the black? Also, can you add the kit later on, if you want to (i.e. the stock kit)? Or would that be more expensive? The dealer was quoting me close to 3000 for the kit on the black one, if we choose to get it. Thanks again for all your input.

Have you bought your car yet? Everyday on my way to work I drive past a white sedan with the kit and wish I had it on mine. I really like the looks of it, but couldn't stretch the budget to get it.
