I have a question now for anyone out there. My Infinity was a 2003 model wth 28000 miles. They replaced the front brakes at the dealership the day before the accident under warranty, I guess the 03 models went through them very quickly. My question is this...Did they fix the brakes in the 04 model? How much does it cost to maintain the brakes on an 03 model?
I may buy an 04 instead of an 03 to replace "the Guardian" Any input would be extremely helpful. I plan on keeping this new car for along time way past its warranty period.

sorry for the slip up
Thanks chili...sorry for the slip up, but I guess you can tell how new I am to the experience and ownership Only 2 days total of having an intact Infiniti!
I'm doing my best to get back into the saddle. But I wanted to know if Infiniti was able to fix the brakes for 04? How often do you have to change 03 brakes? I only put about 200 miles on my car before it ended up at the receiving end of a hit and run and in that time the brakes had to be replaced. About how much does it cost to replace the brakes on the 03? Is it just the pads, or do the rotors go too?

BTW, if they never caught the guy, how do we know he was drunk?
Great that you didn't suffer more at the hands of this callous person (drunk or not), although your suffering may be more and longer than we know, at this point.
Also glad that they didn't try to "fix" your gallant car - it truly would never drive/handle/ride the same. I've had experience with this.
Welcome to the "G" club - you are already a wounded veteran, with a purple heart ....

reason for a lawyer -
I got a lawyer because the problem is medical insurance only covers so much, if you ever have any future problems relating to the injury (which is very common) a settlement on top helps to give you that money you may need down the road. Also since it was a DUI and a hit and run, the insurance company will probably settle out of court if you have a lawyer. Also go on contingency so you essentially only pay if you win, they will take 30% but hey at least you don't have to put anything down.

Update:
Thanks for the support guys. The reason I think that the driver must have been drunk was the way in which I was hit. Inattention causes many accidents, but this guy...
1. Didn't see the huge stop sign and the enormous intersection he hit me at.
2. Didn't see my really cool super bright LED tailights
3. Didn't decide to stop for either 1 or 2.
Tomorrow is the day when the police report becomes available and I find out if the police caught the guy or not. I will, of course, let you know.
I was in good spirits for a while, simply glad to be alive, but it got harder with the constant pain in my neck and back. I also realized how hard it was going to be to replace my car with the options and colors I had grown to love, at the same time finding one at a reasonable price. Then...my wife said I should look in the newspaper. I am a cars.com kind of guy, but I thought it was worth a try. There she was...the perfect car, now named Fawkes. (For those whose families are not Harry Potter Fans...Fawkes is a Phoenix...heroic self-sacrificing birds reborn good as new no matter how they died) I had a deposit put down and hope to be healthy and driving soon. So, it turned out to be an excellent end to an extremely long and very sore week.

Update::::
Well, I am happy to say that I am doing well. Las Vegas Metro is ridiculous though. The plate number the witnesses got matched up perfectly with the vehicle description. Metro sent a letter to the address of the registered owner, which he ignored...and now...THATS FREAKIN ALL THEY ARE GOING TO DO! This guy leaves me there to die, and Metro won't even take the freaking time to make a visit to this guys house. They said they are going to leave the case as it is for one year. They have an ATL out on the car, but that is retarded since his car is as totalled as mine was and will never get pulled over. Its probably gathering dust in the dudes back yard.
Moreover, they refuse to give out any information on his address or plate number for my insurance investigators. I was there when the witnesses were talking about it, but I was strapped down in an ambulance and didn't hear the final plate number. So metro won't release the plate id, the police report doesn't have it...(metro says it's "hear say" until they prove that the registered owner of that license plate hit me, but they can't prove it without an investigation. The investigation can't be done with out them releasing the numbers!) This is absolutely retarded. At least I am covered through my insurance but my rates will probably go up.
Lessons learned....
If you're ever drunk and hit or kill someone in Las Vegas---run. Metro is too damned busy giving speeding tickets and asking for raises to care about the murderous scum that would leave the scene of a serious accident. They wouldn't even visit the guys house!!!!
I may call Sheriff Young to seek resolution. Any suggestions??? I already tried petitioning for a copy of the witness report, but it was conveinently misplaced! Any ideas where to go from here??? I mean they have a name, a license plate, and an address and this guy is still going to get away with it because he ignored a letter.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I'm very glad to hear that you're doing better. As for the police report that's BS. If you have a lawyer have him/her petiting for the police report (the story about the report being lost is BS). Get the report number and the name of the reporting officer. As you may know the report will contain all witness info and suspect info. If you do get the report make sure you get all supplemental reports. The supplemental reports will list all of the officers actions and results on this case. Good Luck.

More about the report
I spoke with two different detectives. They refused to give me the license number. I did get the accident report, it had all the information but the parts I wanted- all information about the at fault driver and his vehicle were deleted on my report as per their policy. Great idea about the lawyer though, thanks. I will have them try directly.
Sadly, I can see their logic. Handing someone unproven information of who may have hit them while the investigation is still underway could result in some problems. Giving the victim an address could result in some nasty confrontations I imagine. The police I am sure want to avoid that type of disclosure unless they are absolutely sure the person is guilty of the crime.
Oh well, I have a sweet car now and am doing alright.

So glad to know you are ok. I bought my G partially for safety reasons. Until last summer, safety was never a second thought when buying a car, but kids were in a very serious accident last summer and the Malibu they were in discinigrated on impact. EMS said they had never extracted people from a vehicle accident like this where there were survivors. Both my children were on the passenger side (oldest in front, youngest in rear) and they survived, though my daughter in the front passenger was critical for the first week. Their friend driving did not make it.

Last time IO checked they were still making new G35's, buy a new one even if they don't write your gladiator off.....and pay attention to soft tissue damage - had a similar experience in a Volvo years ago and 2 years later had to have rotator cuff surgery. The older you get the worse it gets.

Update
I figured since Straight G was in a similar accident and this post is getting more traffic I would post another update. I especially want to thank everyone again for their concern.
I am doing well. I received a good property settlement on the car from Geico, My neck and back are more sensitive than before, but compared to how I felt a week after the accident, I'm doing great!
I have another G35, just like the first. It looks just like the original, but has the premium package. Things worked out pretty well. I'm alive and glad to be so.
