It's what the market dictates, not just what a "few" think or want!

Good points - and there are suddenly a jillion other cars running low 14s. Anything with a hemi is gonna fly, the new Lexus, Avalon, 3 series & audis, plus SRT-4s and Subies are just as quick or much quicker with mods as well. Not to mention all of the nissan/infiniti cars basically running the same vq3.5 engine. A coworker asked me yesterday if I've raced anybody from a light yet, and I was like "nope, this car won't really blow anything away, so what's the point?"

End of the day, I still love my 05, it's 18" sport wheels, and simple entry level lux interior ... it's a damn lot of car for $30K

For the 5ATs, the 03, 04, 05, and the 06 all the same exact redline (6600rpms). The Rev-Up motor in the 05+ 6MTs have 7000-7100rpm limiters and the motor is a bit different than the 5AT.

54 posts, nothing has been settled. I wonder who can pee highest on the wall! All I know is, I love my G, it does NOT rattle (yet), it gets only fair gas mileage, and it goes in the snow!

This is my 04 05 comparo

I drive a 04 G35X and I recieved a 05 G35X loaner.

First, the exterior. Needless to say all exterior changes are an improvement over the 04. The car looks alot more sporty and the wheels look great.

Next, the interior. Most notible is the door skins. The handle/ armrest is nicely covered with leather trim and looks alot nicer than the plastic/rubber on the 04 and there's no sharp lines where the mold is broken away.

In my opinion, the center console is better in the 04. The aluminum trim appears to be fake and the surrounding plastic feels very cheap. The 04 isn't much better but I think it's cleanly laid out, has a better feel to the touch, and makes the center console appear wider. Also, the aluminum trim that surrounds the shifter is real in the 04. The seats seem to be about the same and the gauges are definitely nicer. It's also nice the buttons light up on the wheel. Overall, I still think the 05 interior is nicer.

Finally, the perfomance. When I first floored the car I said, HOLLY **** THIS THING IS FAST!! It feels alot faster than my 04. Off the start, the wheels lose traction and pins you in to the seat as the rpm climb. From a full throttle kick down, the trans slams the gears better than I can ever do in a manual myself. When it kicks down to first from a roll, the front tires lose traction as well. The bottom line, it's alot faster. I don't know if it was just me but I think it goes through less gears to get to 60 than my 04 does.

THe only downside I notice is that it's very loud going over bumps and didn't seem as quiet in general. However, the exaust note is very nice

Negative on that, the aluminum trim is not fake, door handles are real brushed aluminum as well, unlike the "titanium" or color keyed console in the '04, my '04 had the graphite, and the console was always easily marked, my '05 is much nicer.

ya, I noticed that the aluminum is real. For some reason I guess the console doesn't cut it for me. I prefer the 04 over the 05.
