Interior creaking problems. I mean, I just crossed 15K miles on my 05 Autotragic, and every panel in the car seems to be creaking (especially in the moonroof area), and the passenger seat shakes, rattles and rolls. Anyone with similar experiences? Did the dealership fix it?

I have a 2003.5 6MT with about 19,500 miles. No squeeks (knock on wood) but the drivers seat was rocking. Dealrship replaced the rails and it's fine now..

I think every G35 will develop a squeak here or there. But this is a problem in every car. I have been in BMW's and Mercedes that squeek and rattle just as bad.

I have yet to find a car that doesnt have some sort of a creak, squeak or rattle. Cars are made by humans (sort of), and are not perfect, unless perhaps your willing to spend > 100K. The best we can do is put up with it or get it fixed...

Although my late model '05 G35x has its fair share, they have been relatively easy to locate and fix - so right now I'm free of them. But I will say the years under mine are horrendous - every loaner or someone else's non-'05 that I've been in rattles beyond belief - over smooth roads mind you. Definitely all cars rattle, but there are really 2 factors that contribute to this:

1. How many pieces are used for assembly, the more pieces the more flex points there are. The G35 in particular has way too many pieces to the dash/door panels - in relation to an IS 350 whereas the dashboard/door panels in this car has only 5 or 6 pieces total.

2. How/where you drive it - cars that are driving on smooth roads the majority of the time, are more rattle-free than someone who does not.

Basic stuff here - there is no magic or car that is ammine to rattles except a stripped out Jeep

Mine come and go, must be the climate and how the parts react to it.

Very true - In my experience the optimal temp for cars is around 50-60 deg and out of the sun - this is when my cars are very rattle free - or in a soaking rain. In the winter/summer, one can expect more rattles, but there are "winter" and "summer" rattles. So if you’re going to chase rattles, be prepared to realize you’re in for a long fight - have patients to locate and fix rattles, and be prepared to live w/some.

I have owned many make of cars but none of them as noisy as my G35X. I have had 3 three places that were making annoying noise. Had two of them fixed by myself, one from the TSB thread and the other I just did it myself. Currently, the driver seat is noisy at very low speed. I could not fix this myself as the seems the seatback is making the noise. I am waiting for any other issue to come up so I can get it done at the deaer. Other than that, the car is very good

I have a G35X and for the few thousand miles on the car it has been a fast very quiet car.

I had a 2003 Murano that I traded in on the 35X and it is amazing that the same engine powers both cars and does a great job in both of them.

Just my 2C

Agreed - not saying I do not like my car, quite the contrary - just touching on some well known problem areas that I'm sure most agree could use an improvement.

actually the reason car squeeks is the glue used on the panels expand and contract with the weather. Also they may loosen with time. Best to just remove all panels and glue with epoxy. stuff is rock hard and will never squeek again.

Check your sunglasses. As a fighter of window, console and other legitimate and correctable rattles, some of them were easy to fix and some were simply sunglasses in thier holder banging away.

I put cork stoppers under my arm rest to snug it up and it helped a lot. Also all that crap rolling around inside the console make noise too.

I fixed a headliner rattle by placing a pad like the one under the trunk carpet in the headliner and it's gone.

Also the back deck was rattling and layers of weather stripping along all edges of the truck and deck liner helped that out.

The tsb for the window is the only way to fix window creaks that go away after the window is dropped a cm or so.

Man - it's been a long battle but I'm realtively rattle free on the worst pavement. This car has been tought to correct as all the rattles are independent and don't all show up at the same time. It's worse that my other 8 cars ever were - a 1980 Pontiac Sunbird included!
