Question Need some expert advice

I did a search and could not find anyone that had 18x9 +43 offset all the way around setup on their sedan.

My questions is, will this width be okay in the front? I will be running 245/45 tires for now (will go to 235/45 if I can find good tires in that size later) and I eventually want to lower the car. I do not want this setup to be a problem with rubbing now or later. I took a look at the Fitment chart that THX723 put together (thanks Cru) and it looks like it will just fit. (if I am reading the chart correctly)

I am going with this size vs. waiting 90 days for the rims but I dont want to make a bad decision vs. waiting for what should be a safer fit.

What do the experts say?

Thank you!

I dont think you can fit 18x9 in the front... PM Chico, he knows all about offsets and what not. Good luck

I have a unique idea. Why not post this in the Wheel and Tire Forum?

^^^^ I got an idea... why dont you not be a d!ck... that would work. He could post it in the wheel and tire forum but he's asking if these rims would fit a sedan therefor he's posting in the sedan forum.

I agree Gdup35sedan people on this forum take things too seriously hell most of the people in the wheel tire forums are coupe owners anyways. And like you said he has a sedan he will get more exposure in this forum.

Unique idea? I had originally posted this in the wheel and tire forum.......no responses. So much for your unique idea.

Hey, I got a unique idea! Why don't you try NOT posting unless you have something to contribute....now thats a unique idea. Are you taking notes?

Thanks for the input (and for calling "Foot In Mouth" a dick )
I decided to go the safer route and order up some 18x8s. The research I did showed that the 18x9 with a 43 offset would be like the most extreme width you could go without potentially rubbing or hitting the suspension. It is really one of those setups where I would have to buy them and try them out to be sure. The guy that was selling them to me said "no problem, they will fit perfect" In the end, I didnt want to spend 2 grand on a set of rims and have them maybe fit, or not.

I will still PM Chico to find out as I am curious if this really would fit. I'm sure someone will ask the same question again. Hopefully they will use the search and find this post

I was looking at a set of 18x9's for track wheels, but the closest offset available for the fronts was 41, which I thought was pushing it. I am now considering 18x8 in front/18x9 in rear with 245/40's all around.

There is a chance the the front 18x9's would work with 43 offset, but I have a feeling you would run in to some big issues if the car had a drop.

What wheels did you decide on?

Why? you don't like your setup now? Your ride looks SWWEET with those 19's

I am 99% sure you will hit the suspension with that offset, even with a 235/45 tire. I'd get at least a +35 offset on a 9" rim to be safe and you could run a 245 with no problems which will mount better on a 9" rim.

I went to Discount tires here in Vegas and questioned them on the same topic. They have the sizes that fit and dont fit for each car in their computer with various offsets, rim, and tire sizes.. Even if you dont want to buy from them, act like you do and they will be able to help you decide..

I disagree with you here Chico. With a 9" wide wheel in the front and a +35mm offset you would definitely rub the fender. Safer to stick with 8.5" or 8" wide wheel up front.

Unfortunately, sedan owners don't get much action in the wheel forum. I suggested to Papa that he post his question here. There still is no definitive answer as we have not found anyone with a sedan running 9" wide wheels in front. There could be a reason for that...they don't fit.

I decided to go with the Volk GT-7s. After consiudering my options and seeing the C4s in person (sweet rims), I just felt it better over all for the look I want and performance factor.

Yeah, I was leaning towards them not fitting. If I was buying from a local dearler, I would just go for it and test it out to end the debate once and for all. Being as I am buying them from an online dealer, its just not something I want to deal with if they don't fit, which like Cru said....no one is posting cause they most likely do not really fit.

Thanks fellas
I should be getting everything lined up next week. I will post pics in the sedan wheels sticky when I get them on.

Off to install my Crawford cats!
