just purchased 06 G35x AT: thoughts?

so here's the deal:

im pretty new to these forums, but not to "forums" in general. i.e. Nextel forums etc..

so this being my first post and all, i figured i would make it a good one.

my grandfather has cosigned with me on a lease of a brand new 2006 G35x Black on Black sedan w/ navigation, bluetooth, spoiler etc..

ive seen a red and a white car for the basic run down and the test drive. however, i havent seen the one we are signed up to get until i go to pick it up on monday.

im not about to complain. im 22 yrs old and this is my 3rd new car; so no real room for bitching and moaning.

i had 3 MAIN questions:

1. ive searched for "wood interior, wood grain interior, rosewood" and got no where. does anyone know or have pics of how this rosewood looks on the 06 black on black? or just pics in general?

2. the spoiler had to be dealer installed because they said they do not come from the maker with it on. no idea, whatever. my question is..will the spoiler still remain just as effective and sturdy being dealer installed?

and 3. i leased it for $349 a month $4500 down..with all those options. is that a good deal?

thanks, guys..sorry for being the new "noob" in town..

I can comment on #1. I have the wood trim on my 05 black X and I really like it. Some guys on here don't but I have to tell you I've driven in both wood and non-wood trims, and I much prefer the wood. IMO, it makes the car look classier (more expensive).

Keep in mind this is purely subjective, but you're hearing from someone who thinks you made the right decision.

Congrats! Be nice to gramps.

Regarding #3, it's impossible to tell if you got a good deal unless you know what the cap cost, residual value, and lease rate was. Did you ask the salesman for these?

This link may help give you an idea how the rosewood looks.

that's a good link, harley01. The nicest touch on the wood trim, IMO, is the thin piece on the center of the shifter. Looks really good.

I've never seen the rosewood in person, but I think it looks nice in the pics. I'm usually not a big fan of wood trim, but I like how Infiniti mixes it with the aluminum accents. Not sure if it's any darker in the 06.

Bet Monday can't get here quick enough, eh?

i've seen the rosewood in person and personally i wasn't a fan. i like the "glossy" wood interiors you see on lexus cars and the rosewood has a matte finish. it doesn't look real and it feels like wood paneling instead of hard wood. just my 2 cents. that's why i stuck with aluminum on my black/black sedan.

I think the wood is out of place on the G. I got the wood trim but I'd trade it in a hot second for the brushed aluminum plus a few bucks.

I think the brushed aluminum is beautiful and sport looking, while the wood looks out of place in the G. I'm also not a fan of the matte finish, which I think looks cheap IMO.

If you wanna trade trims drop me a PM and we can work something out.

my bad i didnt realize you were getting the wood. I misunderstood. Anyway, if I could do it all over again I would have no doubt gone with the brushed aluminum.
