just jumpin in here:

Hey Tanabe...I got your Super Medallion Hyper-Spec exhaust and Y-pipe on my coupe and I'm really happy with them....

but I was wondering, is the new Touring Medallion better than the SMHS? is it tuned to be quieter also?

Thumbs up

Touring is going to be a few decibels quieter than Hyper, which is beneficial for those doing quite a bit of modding, but designed to flow just as well, if not better. We'll see during the R&D!

Some G owners report slower off the line acceleration too which isn't good for those of us stuck with autos and a limited launch rpm. I agree that the OEM y-pipe is very ugly, but the data seems to show that the stock y-pipe can flow enough air for the NA VQ35. It seems that the only way to gain any real power with an exhaust on these cars to go with a true dual setup like $700+ Stillen and Borla offer. Even then, it's only worth about a dyno verified 7-9whp.
I believe we do have the dyno sheet of our Y-pipe on hand to show the power gain on a stock 350Z. It's very considerable-- it of course, always depends on the design of the y-pipe. Many designs look vaguely similar, but the smallest differences in the bend angle and location of bends will do quite a bit to improve exhaust gas velocities/efficiency...even after the exhaust gasses are coming back out after the catalyzers and headers.

I can't comment on the other manufacturer's designs, but we have the data/dyno for ours, as well as a lot of positive input from my350z Please email us for a copy. We tested cars with y-pipe only, y-pipe + exhaust, and results were very good.

Anyhow, we're not here to toot our own horn, just perform our R&D We do have quite a few eligible R&D participants-- thank you guys for your enthusiasm and help!

Those still interested in R&D, please feel free to contact us, we will be more than happy to contact you for any future R&D needs

Exhaust mods at least for my previous cars gain high-end horse power but loses low-end torque. With the G, I rather have the low end torque cause I commute with it.
