hm.... is aftermarket fujitsubo exhaust with TANABE Y PIPE, CF intake and ECU stock enough? cause your going to take off the exhaust so all i have more is an intake and ECU.

My car will be ready for test fitment after next monday.

I live in Torrance!!

I wished I lived near Torrance. I am out in the OC, any possibilities of fitment near my location, if so count me in.

The car will need to be bone stock, as we need to take baseline dyno runs so that we can compare stock and with-exhaust results, and make any modifications necessary so the system will make good power as a y-pipe back alone.

G35Lin> How are you enjoying the Tanabe Y-Pipe?

As most of you know, Y-pipes are fairly necessary to create big power, since the stock ones are very restrictive, but we're going to shoot for good power from a y-pipe back

Cars will be needed for a maximum of 1.5 days, but typically R&D may take much less time, in which we will call you to let you know the results!

I'd have to say the masses disagree with the statement that the OEM Y-pipe is a major restriction because the 350Z crowd reports that the aftermarket y-pipeS (Jic, Tanabe, others) do absolutely nothing for their dynos or 1/4 mile times. Some G owners report slower off the line acceleration too which isn't good for those of us stuck with autos and a limited launch rpm. I agree that the OEM y-pipe is very ugly, but the data seems to show that the stock y-pipe can flow enough air for the NA VQ35. It seems that the only way to gain any real power with an exhaust on these cars to go with a true dual setup like $700+ Stillen and Borla offer. Even then, it's only worth about a dyno verified 7-9whp.

hm.... i actually felt a lower end boost when i got my Y pipe. But i guess thats just my butt dyno tho...

I went with the tanabe just to be different and cause it looked like a very nicely designed Y pipe. A little different from the others. it doesn't give me an raspy sound like the first gen fujitsubo Y pipe did.
