To be honest, I wouldn't of commented if you replaced that statement with something like, "I rarely do any type of street racing. I know it's not the safest or smartest thing to do, but I couldn't pass up an oppurtunity to run with some STi's on the open road. Please don't try this yourself". If you're going to use a disclaimer, why not be honest? The fact that you're 31 yrs old doesn't qualify you as a safe street racer.
It is unsafe. I will not deny that. But when I do it I always make sure of the conditions around me. Lots of space, not much traffic if any, and the distance I can see ahead as well. I won't deny I use to street race back when I was 16-22~. But I have never had a accident or any close calls. Or even a ticket. I am just a very careful about it.

31 years old over a 20 year old qualifys me as being a safer driver and knowing what to look for Cru. I also race my car at tracks. So all this helps. I am not some kid that races through DT or in a neighborhood.

Gotta go with Cru on this one Russ! Sorry but I just hear the voice of my highschool principal in my ear "with freedom comes responsibility". Yes you are older and you have experience. Does that really make it a good idea to say that there is a safe way to do it? Not really since if we are intellectually honest about it there isn't a *safe* way. There MAY be a safER way but still.

Well I should have expected this post to get ruined. OH well. Not like every single person that is into cars hasn't raced on the street. If you say never, you are lieing.

May lightning strike me and someone take my family away; I will swear on the life of my child - NEVER! I would not call anyone out for something I had done before without saying I had done it but thought differently of it now. I can say without any doubt in my mind of my memory that I have NEVER, EVER street raced.

I don't think anyone would have even said anything to you aside from you comment regarding knowing how to street race safely. I personally do not believe that there is such a way to street race. I am not the only one as Cru pointed that out as well. I think you fell prey to the poor choice of words in this case.

If it makes you feel better. IM 49 years of age, And never set out to street race.
But for some reason, Somebody that has no idea in Utah what a G35 is, provokes me in to a spirited drive as I would call it. Your one of the good guy's here. Keep up the good work.
Me, The guy with the 911sc yesterday went home thinking different about provoking a street race. I just love the word "Infiniti" Your on my buddy list now!!

I feel the need to chime in here. I don't know many girls that have street raced, or raced in general. It seems to be limited to guys from the time they got their drivers license. It's probably the wiring in a guys head, it's part of the same wiring that makes us think we are invincible until we hit our 30's, and then we're only invincible on the weekends.

BTW - I'm not saying you don't like to race when the time is right, it's just that there aren't that many women who do it.

I know she does it, that why I made the comment at the bottom. But unfortunately she's more of the exception. In my 40 plus years I have only met one other women who enjoys to race and/or likes to drive fast cars.

Glad you're happy with the mod.

As for the other - well, it should have been expected. Bad choice of words I suppose. Being 31 just means you should know better. You draw a line between yourself and younger drivers and reference 20 year olds, but your behavior is a contradiction to your age and supposed 'maturity..' At least in my book.

Be careful man. We don't need any more bad statistics.

This I love. That is TOO funny - mostly because it's true

I love to race and always have but I have never street raced. My sister on the other hand would likely do it and may very well have done it. She's 17 and still has her head firmly up her @$$ is many regards. LOL! Mom's done it I'm sure whether she would ever admit to it or not. I'd bet as much on that as I would that I haven't.

Move south sweetie. I think the women are a little wilder down our way.

And what happened to coming out our way to play on the track some, huh? You need to send a message and explain yourself.
