Remote Starters

Can you tell that it's cold here? LoL.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone has any info because I wanted to buy a remote starter for my 03 g35 sedan (automatic). Is there anything I should know about buying one? Anyway to integrate it with the alarm I already have on my car or do I have to carry around another bulky device on my keychain.

Not sure exactly where to start, if I should go to Infiniti or where but I don't know much about these things. If anyone can break down some general info like prices and pro/cons (if any), I'd appreciate it.

i have Python Responder 881XP - works like a miracle. it works in conjunction with your factory alarm. be ready to hand over one of your car keys for it to be installed in the module that allows for remote starting.

the only thing you should ask before commiting to have it installed - make sure that the installer knows how to install this alarm *without* cutting into the factory wiring harness. it can be installed by *tapping* into the harness, not cutting into it. if wiring harness is cut, your entire car warranty is gone.

I have an autopage w/remote start. You get lifetime warranty with all parts and labor. I had this alarm and auto start on my Toyota Tundra for about six years and had no problems.

This alarm had an engine demobilizer which I didn't get installed because they would have to cut into the factory harness. So I decided not to do this since it would void the factory warranty.

I got the Viper 791XV that has responder alarm and remote start. I love it, but the key to a good install is with the installer. Choose your installer WISELY!

one more thing: you won't be able to operate your rear windows if you don't have the all-auto windows (premium package). in premium package, rear windows, as well as front ones (standard) come with roll-up stop sensors. if you don't have that, you won't be able to roll your rear windows up or down with the python/viper remote.

btw, python and viper alarms are the same ones, just packaged and named different things. made by the same company.

yes, you are right. but once in a while it's nice to be able to roll down the windows to get something out of the car quickly - and roll them back up

I prefer walking up to the car and being able to open the car without getting my keys out of my pocket with my intelligent key... Oh, wait, you don't have that.

I had an aftermarket alarm with remote starter installed on my last car. It was great for a while, but then it stopped working.

Can you give more details on your system- namely price, features, and where you got it installed.

Thanks.

yes at my dealership i've sold plenty of remote starts with and without the intelligent key. it is actually integrated into the factory remotes so you won't have to carry any extra remote controls. it also comes with a warranty in case of any defaulting issues

What is the unit that you guys sell and install? I would love to have a remote start using my factory remote.
