Curb rash... :( ouch
Curb rash... :( ouch
Friday night it was raining and dark. I couldn't see real well anyways. I missed my turn and had to turn around in a business complex. The complex goes deep, and near the road it has a outside road that follows the main road direction. I had to do a sharp turn into that area but little did I know there was construction and the rain caused a mudslide. I couldn't tell the difference of the road surface with my lights. But once I hit it, I lost all steering. And at first I had no clue what happened. I slowed down to a stop, then got on the gas again and now my back tires were just spinning with me hardly going anywhere. I stopped again, but this time my car was at a slight down angle towards the exit, and the car slid. IT came to a stop once it hit the curb front right wheel.
I was going less than 5 mph luckily. I opened the door and was like omg MUD. Couple if inches deep. I got out, tires were solid mud. I was pissed. Security guard walks up and was like yea those construction idiots didn't block it off. I was like yea. He has to push my rear of the car when I try to get it away from the curb so the rear tire doesn't hit. I was able to get free and was sliding for a bit till I got the mud off and drove down the street to a car wash to spray what I could off. But I was upset to see the small wheel rash.
Anyone have ideas on how to fix this themselves? I don't trust wheels of america because of the matching of color. These have that titanium finish.
See pic.
You can see the spoke and edge of the wheel where it hit. The rest is just mud/dirt.

damn that sucks! i had curb rash two weeks after i just bought my car and trust me i know how you feel. you know i'm guessing maybe you can get that fixed, and send the bill to the city? technically it was their fault because they didnt block off the road and you could have gotten in a bigger mess than you did. just an idea. hope everything works out for you.

Man, you've got the strangest bad luck with cars. You hydrolocked a Maxima running through shallow water, ran over a piece of rebar in your old G and put a hole in the floor board, and now you drifted through a mud skating rink.

Yea, I wanted to go by there today but I had a interview and the day was crazy. So I didn't have any spare time too. I will definitely try tomorrow though.
DaveB, yes I know. Dunno, maybe I need some holy water.
