Question regarding automatic transmission...

Hi all,

Quick question. Sometimes when I have to work on things in the garage, for my accord since it's m/t, I would just let go of the emergency brakes, pop it to N and let it roll back so I can have some room. Now with my g35x, since it's automatic, can you pop it to N without having to start the engine? I know I can just start the car and roll it back but I've been used to m/t in the past where I just push or roll the car back to give me some leverage room to do things. It may sound kinda silly though...

Thanks...

You'll need to turn the key to one click shy of starting it, then put your foot on the brake and it will now let you put it in neutral. It's a bit of an overkill in my opinion, but that's the way it's built. Make sure the emergency brake is off too before you go to move it.

THere is also the option for sticking the emergency release key and press foot on brake and move lever to N.

With the ignition in the ON position (not started) , touch the brake and move the tranny to N and move the ride.
