Wheel Fitment Question

So...I am planning on ordering some custom Work wheels, and their main US distributor is urging me to run some wild sizes for the deal of a lifetime.

What offsets do I need to make 19x9F/19x10R fit, and would those also apply if the rim diameter was 20"?

Which of their wheels are you looking at? They all have different specs on their disks and rims width. I'm very familiar with their wheels and worked out the specs for my own car.

BTW, the nice thing about Work is that you can go with a VIP look or just keep it practical tuner like set up.

I'm most likely looking at the VS-XX. Since the company I am dealing with is the main distributor, they can have the wheels made in ANY OFFSETS, not just those that you see listed on their website. Work gives certain distributors extra flexibility across wheels lines...

The shop wants me to go VIP, but I want something that will fit without causing me headaches. What do you suggest?

You can go with this:

19x9 +38 with 245/35/19 front
19x10 +48 with 275/30/19

The end result as far as fitment will be as if you were running 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear. The only difference you will see is the ROLLED outer lip of the rim will be more pronounced because of the extra 1/4" and slight stretch giving you that bit of VIP look.

If you go with 20's (which I prefer) you can use the same offsets and tire sizes in 20". The outer rolled lip will be even more noticeable and the wheel / tire diameter will be closer to OEM specs and fill up the wheel well much better.

However, your Tein Stechs might be a bit too low for 20's, so you'd have to consider rolling rear fenders or bring it up with Tein H techs and you'll have a perfect even fit all around with no modifications required.

Another thing to consider is that the lip size will not be SUBSTANTIALLY different front to back if you use the same disk. If you want to see the difference ask them to use the STANDARD disk in the front and LOW disk in the rear.

The nice thing about WORK is that these guys really know these cars and they know about extreme fitments.

Nice choice. I went conservative w/ mine - 19x8(+38)F, 19x9(+45)R. Check them out at this link.

Thanks for your response, Chico. I'm running Tein Basic's now, so adjusting the height is not an issue (but I do want to run the setup very low), and my rear fenders have been rolled for a long while.

I think the 19's fill up the wheel well just fine, so I will probably stay with 19's.

Wow, I've never seen your car before, but excellent choice in mods.

I definitely need to run 19x10 because your 19x9's do not have enough lip for me.

Yes, I want/need new rims. By the way, the shop that is hooking me up has a set of Volk GT-V's in 19x8.5/19x9.5 in sedan fitment that they are trying to let go for a ridiculous price- something along the lines of $1,800 brand new... Interested? They'll work with the Stoptech BBK that is in your future.
