I got a quote from the dealer of $800 installed. For all of you that have this option isi t worth it? Does it really protect the value of the car? I'm also assuming that I can get this cheaper "aftermarket", does anyone know of a place that does the install in CT? Thanks in advance

too much but worth it
Just got my 05 X done, hood, mirrors, front end, roof in front of sunroof, & rear bumber sill for $450 Canadian $ (about $400 US $). Great investment if you search the forums, you will see everyone agrees. I would also suggest splash guards. On the clear bra phone around for pricing & make sure you get an installer with lots of experience.

I found a local place here in VA Beach, VA that installs the clear bra and they gave me a price of $650.00 which includes parts and labor. The when I got the price on was the full front protection and mirror protection. Also comes with a 5year warranty. I would recommend getting one on your car.

Even at $800 it's worth it, but you should be able to get it for half that.

Yes, it is worth it. My car still looks new. But don't get it from the dealer, they rape every penny that you have. They are ALL aftermarket. There is no such thing as Infiniti brand. Call your local installers and ask for quote. I got my bumper, hood, mirrors, lights and fender done for $600.

Yeah I figured that the dealerships were high with the price, but I don't of any places that install this in CT. I'll have to try to find one to save some $$$.

It's one of the first things I did with the car right after driving it home from an out of town dealership 400 plus miles away.

Since I'm on the west coast, I can't help you about who to install, but should be no more than $650 including parts and labor. Dealer is getting at least 200 profit if you go through them.

I looked into getting the clearbra install since I have the aero package with the front lip and I was told that the longer term effects are not worth the trouble with a light colored car (PS) I was told that the film will turn yellow after a couple years and then customer's ask to have it removed frequently...

Clear Bra
I'd say definately worth it, got mine done a week or so after purchase. At the time there was only 1 certified 3M installer in town(also 5 mins from my house ) and he said he does all the BMW/MB/Porsche "dealer" installs. Although apparently the local Infiniti dealer doesn't provide the service, if someone asks they refer them to him.

I found him through this link

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...ind_Installer/

just put in your state and town.

He was also half the cost of the quote I got from the dealer I bought my car at(not the local one, I hate them )

If your in San Diego, Discover Infiniti in Escondido charges $529 for the clear bra install (ask for Brian, others there have quoted me $650).

They actually go through a third party called Autobahnd (located in Clairemont Mesa). The product itself is called 'Roadblock'.

Yes, the clear bra paint protection application is definitely worth the monies, which one may spend. This is especially true for the darker colored cars, as paint chips are more highly noticeable on the darker colored vehicles. I had mine applied right after I had purchased my car. Time will tell, as you compare your protected car to others that do not have the paint protection.
