Just curious, how was the installation? I've heard you need to drill holes onto the car right? I thought about getting it but I think the car looks better without it (but of course you get more water splash and little rocks kicking back onto your car)

Nice! I've been thinking about ordering some too. Do you have any more pics of the splash guards on the car as a whole? Like, not the individual front and rear pics, but of how the splash guards would look on the car from a distance where you could see how they look on the whole car at once. Thanks!

Eicar,

Take a look at the "DG w/ Stone or DG with Graphite" thread. VegasG35 posted a link to his G35 pics that show a lot of different pics of his G w/ splash guards. I installed mine last month and it was a piece of cake (even for someone like me). I drilled holes for the rear guards only and they only go through the plastic. I personally like it for my Diamond Graphite G, but I've seen some other colors that I wouldn't want it on. I find it very practical too. Just a little something to distinguish my G from the others.

Ya I know from that angle it does look like a lift but it is stock. Only 1000 miles. Yes you drill 2 holes in the rears & 1 in the front. You don't even have to remove the front tires as you can just turn them but I suggest you remove the rears. I removed all 4 tires & painted my calipers & rotated my tires while I was at it. Very easy to do, just need a jack. I use a floor jack with a hockey puck with a slit cut in it to fit under the body.

I think you can hardly notice them but it is the protection I wanted. I also used 3M and did the rest of the length of the sill with a strip of 3M, just for protection. My car is almost completely wrapped in that stuff!

I installed mine this past weekend and yes you must drill 2 holes for each of the rear splash guards and 1 for each of the front splash guards. It has 3M double sided tape to hold it in place, so drilling is simple.

You can use you carjack as per the instructions unless you have an alternate method which is better...long story short, you will need to lift the car in if your drill and drill bit is too long. Especially the front.

you will need a 8MM (metric) (5 3/4 or something american) drill bit for the pins to fit in snug.

Thanks for all the info guys. It seems you still need to drill these in? How come on EverythingG35.com (G35parts.com) the description says it is an "Easy, no-drill installation"?

Eicar, I'm pretty sure the description on everythingg35.com is incorrect. I bought mine from them and they definitely have the drill holes and instructions. You can also email them just to make sure. The Splash guards also have tape on them in addition to the drill holes. That's why some people don't use drills. I'd recommend drilling though, at least for the rear. It's pretty simple.

Ohhh, thanks pinks! Is the drilling necessary though? Like is the tape not strong enough to hold it in the long run so that drilling is there to be a backup measure? I'm only asking this because I don't think I have access to a jack and really haven't jacked up a car by myself yet so I really don't know how difficult that would be (of course I'd have to try sometime to find out though right? ). But yeah, thanks for the info guys!

The tape is kind of weak...I would insert the plastic pins for a more durable installation.

This is picking nits, but you ought to consider buying a cheapo rubber / tire cleaner (clear-coat safe of course) and spraying out your wheel well... I do that on mine whenever I want the car to look extra spiffy.
