Why does the exhaust sound so much better after car is driven?

It mostly happens in the morning time when their engines were not fully warm up.
I love the exhaust after it's driven for a while. Felt like about 50% + of what the coupe exhaust sounds like. Really deep. =)
I've read people saying the 03/04 exhaust doesn't sound as good. For the ones that owns both or traded in for the 05, can you comment on it?
Also, since the deeper sound applies more towards the 05, you guys think as the car ages that the exhaust sounds better? I've driven the car for over a year and just lately do I realized the exhaust sounds deeper and deeper after driven it for a while. I mean even starting the car you hear a throaty start (after it's driven of course).
I know some of you hate the drone between 1,500 - 2,000 rpm, but I for one (yes I am weird) loves that drone big time.
