18 X 8, 48mm offset, sedan

Looking at a set of Rota wheels for my 2003 sedan. They are 18X8, with a 48mm offset. Is that offset a but too much? I have seen many 18 X 8 rims with 45mm offset and they fit fine.

Thanks

marty

They will look tucked just like the OEM wheels. Why change a dollar for 4 quarters?? If you really like the wheel design I suggest getting wheel spacers to bring them out and put 235/45/18 and you'll be good to go.

FYI, the couple 18" wheels are 18x8 +30 and they fit just perfectly flushed on the sedan.

48mm offset on a 8" wide wheel is not going to look good on a sedan! Way too tucked in.

You should be looking at 8" wide wheels closer to the 35mm range. This will bring the wheels more flush (without rubbing) to the fenders.

Thanks for the info everyone. I think the wheel I am looking at is offered in a 35mm also. How concerned should I be about a cast vs forged wheel? No track time anticipated, only some spirited country roads once in a while.

I have had two sets of Rota wheels and had zero problems and I tracked both sets. Not bad for knock off wheels..I have seen them take abuse better than a set of SSR's
