Turbonetics ST Kit a Success on the 03 G35 Sedan 6MT!!!

Hello All,

Turbo Kits.com sent out one of the first kits to a 03 G35 Sedan 6MT owner. That owner just confirmed today the kit is up and running and the install was a breeze!

There were 2 small issues:
1) The fuel pump assembly is different on the Sedan. However, instead of have to drill out the relief valve, you only have to drop in the fuel pump and re-install the assembly. So this is actually less work
2) The front headlight ballast hits the turbo intake tube. The ballast is mounted w/ 2 screws. Just remove 1 of the screws and rotate the ballast 90 degrees out of the way and the intake tube goes right by. Just tie up the swinging end of the ballast with a zip tie…

The only other issues I can think of are:
1) The ECU flash is for the Coupe, which advances the timing a bit. This makes the use of 93+ Octane mandatory.
2) This has not been tested long term on the Sedan. Therefore, I would also suggest a DYNO session to make sure the engine parameters stay within a safe level under boost.

We will be offering this kit at a discount, same as the Coupe kit. Click Here: http://www.turbo-kits.com/g35_turbo_kits.html for more info. We are also extending an additional $100 off special for G35driver.com Members Only

We can also get the TurboXS UTEC, MotorDyne Spacers, and a full line of gauges and monitors to complete your Turbo Package!

Oh Yeah...

If you have a newer "Rev Up" engine. The kit will not fit. Same issues as the 05 Coupe 6MT.

Let me know if you have any questions

Jesse, any reason why this would not work with an automatic G35 sedan?

Thanks.

The Auto tranny cars require a different kit. Same as the Coupe and the 350Z. I would assume that when Turbonetics releases the AUTO kit for the Coupe, it could easily be installed on the Sedan just like this one...

I researched the fuel pump problem when I had my sedan. The fuel pressure regulator is in an entirely differnt location and cannot be drilled out because there is no plug to drill out. By switching out just the pump you will have fuel richness and supply issues. The siphon assembly design is totally different from the coupe and Z. It is highly recommended to go to a return fuel system with boost on a sedan. Charles at CJ Motorsports has a return kit specific to the sedan. We actually prototyped the kit on my fuel pump from my sedan.

It's my sedna that Jesse is referring to. After installing the new pump and not modifying the fuel regulator, the fuel pressure is 53 psi. According to Mia, see https://g35driver.com/forums/forced-induction/80121-turbonetics-st-installed-03-sedan.html, 53 psi isis what the TN set calls for.

I highly recommend you get it on a dyno and watch what happens with the fuel delivery curve when the boost comes up. A fuel return system with UTEC is by far the best F/I engine management solution for the VQ imo.

The 04 Sedan should be fine... Only the "Rev Up" engine will have issues w/ fitment.

Also, this is just a success on installation, this kit has not been tested long term on the Sedan. Additional tuning may be required...

The customer is not local, so getting a sound clip would be up to him. However, it should sound just like the Coupe or the Z. I am sure there are plenty of clips on this board of that.

"1) The ECU flash is for the Coupe, which advances the timing a bit. This makes the use of 93+ Octane mandatory. "

rereading this thread and this jumped right out 2nd time around......we only get 91 here in so-cal.....so, is there an updated flash for the sedans to remedy or is this kit out of the picture for me? please advise.

There are 2 options:

1) Go with an aftermarket piggyback like the UTEC or eManage and tune it to a safe level.

2) Add a bottle of octane boost in with every fill up...

I am check with Turbonetics to see if they have a 91 octane flash for all of their CA users...

Stay Tuned...
