Unhappy Help!! Creaking noise again..

Hi all,

I have had tried a few times to have my dealer "attempt" to fix my ride's creaking problems.. but they seem to have only solved a partial amount of it..

Anyways, I have now pinpointed one of the creaking to be in the area of the rear window at the driver's side..it seems to be coming out from either the upper passenger handle (where you also have a hook for your suit =) ) and that interior light near the upper rear passenger handle..

However, I have no idea how to:

1) Pop open that interior light lens since there was no screw or anything, I was trying to pop it out by pulling the side of the lens, but afraid that I might have broken the lens

2) the handle itself, once again, there is no screw or anything...

Anyways, does someone have any similar creaking problems from those two areas? that kind of creaking (just at the back of my head !!!) is driving me nuts...

Godmans

Both my rear windows/doors creak. Early on, my driver's window creaked, and the dealer sprayed some type of silicone in the track, which fixed the problem. I have not yet had them treat the rears yet. I discovered what the cause was by opening the rear doors and pulling back and forth on the top of the window frame. It creaked like crazy. Its like the rear doors are not nearly as solid as the fronts. Give it a shot.

RLampke, they replaced the rubber around your window, they didn't do that for me. They replaced the bolts as detailed in this TSB:

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB05-034.htm

Godmans, Yorkville took care of this for me last time I was there.

The improper bolt lengths really does not apply to '05 and > for my bolts in this TSB were the correct lengths out of the factory. I would request the dealer that they install the re-engineered window seals that was designed specifically to resolve this issuse, using this part #. My windows have been silent ever since.

...so yes, I did have my windows seals replaced w/the new seals.

I've had this before, and I have it again. I finally convinced the dealer it was the seal...so they replaced it & it went away for a while...but now it's back.

With the new redesign ones..? Again, the difference is that there is a felt strip inside the weatherstripping where the window goes into the seal. The original seals out of the factory do not have this. My windows were really creaking before, but I've had the new seals in place for about 2 months now, and not a single noise. If you indeed have these installed, then your problem lies elswhere or the felt strip is damaged.

Knowing the service dept. where I was, I'd say they weren't "redesigned" ones. Guess I'll go buy my own damn felt!
