Painting Front End

Is $350 too much to repaint the front bumper cover on my 6mt sedan? The shop seems to be reputable, but I don't know about the price. The guy upped the price from quote he gave me on the phone after seeing the car. He probably figured I'm rich since I own a G35 (lol). Also, I asked the shop to paint the lower black trim on the car to match, and he didn't think it would be a good idea because I armor-alled the pieces. Any suggestions and does anyone know of a good body shop in Las Vegas.

350$ seems to be on the high side, but if it is a good job then it will be well worth it. I got quoted 200$, but my shop's quality of work is only average.

Re: Painting Front End

It cost $300 to have my rear bumper cover painted, and that's a smoother, straighter, easier piece. My body shop also recommended against painting the lower black pieces.. no Armorall involved, they just said that the way it was textured, it wasn't made to be painted, and it would probably peel off in a few years.

Re: Painting Front End

I once got a whole car painted for $200. It was a waste of $200.

gdupg35,

If you're trying to hide stone chips on the front bumper, you can ask the dealer if they can air brush them out. It's color matched and almost impossible to tell that it's been over painted. The little bottles of touch up paint are now outdated because the dealers can airbrush the bumpers so awesomely. Check with your dealer and i bet they'll do it. My dealer quoted me $100.00 to do both the front and back bumpers when I get to the time when I want it done! I've seen others at this site that also have had airbrushing done and they say it looks unbelievable! So before you go having the whole thing removed and painted, check this option out!

Re: Painting Front End

It started as a chip, I tried to color sand it and now it's about the size of a quarter and burned through to the plastic Do you think it may be airbrushable still? I'm getting a clear bra as soon as that is fixed.
