the facts about coupe midpipe on a 05 6mt sedan...

i know there's a lot of debates on the "coupe midpipe on a 05 sedan" topic, i've searched.

many said it's waste of money, it drones, it's no better than the 05 sedan midpipe.
other said it'll save weight, there IS a difference (performance wise), it'll sound just like the coupe, and it's worth the money.

which is it? i'm asking about the midpipe on 05 6mt sedans only, not 03 or 04...

thanks everyone,
benjamin

Well I'm gonna break the rules....since I have an '04 5AT sedan . Not sure where you heard that your car will sound like the coupe...I've never read that here, but I guess it's possible that someone wrote it. I highly doubt that your car would sound like the coupe w/ this middy on...it may sound better, but never like the coupe. That's my input...curious as to what others have to say.

Save your money unless you are looking for a weight reduction. I have a 05 6mt and found this does not add much noticeable sound. If you want performance, get a real exhaust, this does ZIP.

If you searched and read the threads...you would know this topic has been covered, discussed and debated to death. You will not get responses any different than those already posted.

However, the '05 midpipe and muffler perform much better than the '03 and '04 models. If you want to invest on your exhaust, you should look at getting High Flow Cats, Ypipe and/or headers. If you want a full system...then consider the Stillen Catback.

Replacing the midpipe will not add any hp or sound. Replacing the muffler will not do anything but change sound and possibly lose back pressure.

I've gone through all the scenarios with my old '03 and now my new '05. Right now I have the Intense Ypipe, OEM middy and HKS muffler. The Ypipe definately helped open up the car on the highway...the car just wants to keep pulling and the HKS I got it for sound only. I got a set of Crawford cats that will go on this spring and that will complete it for me. In the end I expect to have an additional 8hp and a nice clean exotic sounding car.
