I would rather have it off by default and have to reach down to turn it on in the rain or when I let someone else drive it.
Yeah...it is an unconvenient location (for those who use it a lot). Someone on this forum relocated his VDC button & made a new location using a Dremel..... Just out of curiousity, why do you prefer to have the VDC button off? I've read a few horror stories on this forum where people have racked up their car after turning it off. Does it really restrict your driving based on your driving habits? I look at it as an insurance/safety precaution. I like to drive aggressively here & there on occasion, and in many instances, I see the slip light come on. Just isn't worth the risk IMO....but I guess if you're a very experienced RWD driver it could be a different story (this is my first RWD car). I can't see why you wouldn't be able to change the configuration of it (default off)...no? PS - I've dimmed my dash lights accidentally while popping my trunk .

I like to slide the back around a little bit, but the real reason I turn it off is that it is too sensitive.

If I am driving fast and shift hard into second or third gear, it will cut power after I shift. There are also cases where I try to pull out into traffic making a sharp turn that it cuts power. This is in a case where there might be a little wheel slip, but not enough to lose control or even change direction.

I can see it being beneficial on a wet/slick road, but even then - without it I would know not to give it that much gas.

What I am finding is that I have fun in the rain with it on. I am purposely going too fast and accelerating too hard to see how it handles getting crossed up. So far so good, but one of these days it might send me into a tree itself trying to correct for what it thinks I am doing improperly - like straightening it out on a road that isn't straight.
