I have seen most pricing to install overlays to be about $50 for a set of tail lights. Expensive tint shops will charge up to $100. Some tint shops won't install them. You have to shop around or give a shot at it your self.

Those are new. I have Bat's GTR's on my sedan.
As for not being able to see them. I was following a 03' about a month ago with full tint (darker than 6/10) and when he hit the hit the brakes I could see them just fine during the day so night driving would be even better. This was when I decided to buy Bat's. My concern was the turn signal but you can still see it just fine here, even in the direct Phoenix sun.

yep. I have 6/10 in rear... you can see 'em perfect! Day or night. Taillight, and brake lights are perfectly visible. In litigation it would be real easy to prove that they are completely visible, take em outside an show them - in fact it would be good leverage for the person that got rear-ended... A good attorney (or even defendant themselves) could suggest the other party is visually impaired which could explain why the idiot re-ended you.
It's impossible not to see the lights with Bats overlays.
I was originally worried about tickets though... I've been pulled over 4 times (for ehhemmm -speeding ) and not once did the cop mention the overlays much less give me a ticket.
Moral of the post - don’t worry about being rear-ended (at least due to not seeing the lights) - however, they seem to draw speeding tickets. *** must be the overlays not my right foot
