need your advice please

hi guys i am new to this forum. i used to have a 2000 nissan maxima GLE and just recently got my 2003 g35 in pearl white. i had several questions that i needed some advice/tips on.

#1 is there any way possible to get the STOCK navigation system on my car? ive seen a navigation system that was taken right off of a totalled 2003 g35 for sale on ebay. it was the entire front piece including the cd player heat/ac control if i buy it and put it in my car will it work with the furl economy and etc. I've seen the aftermarket navigation i can get from digitalwheelz.com that fits right in the same place the stock navi would fit but i dont like it.

#2 i got my car for $18,500 with 51000 miles 6 cd changer, 17 inch rims, HIDs, Mint condition. did i get a good deal?

#3 since my car has 17 inch rims, does that mean i have the sport suspension? im asking becuase ive seen 2003 g35s with 16 inch rims, so i figured maybe the ones with 17 inch rims come with the sport suspension. i read the post on calling the dealership with the VIN but they put me on hold for 30 mins and then said to call back cuz no one was availble to help.

#4 my car came with the gray colored "body kit"? i guess its called side skirts. i hate it. it looks horrible. i want to get the one where its all metal and painted white..(mine is gray and plastic, i think they call it scruff guards? ) where can i get this at the cheapest price possible? (i'm 20 yrs old and a college student so i'm on a budget) i like the OEM body kit and spoiler. where can i get it from?

thanks for your help !

1. Sure you can add it, it would take more work than I can imagine. Anything is possible. I don't know the specifics though on this one. It has been discused and I think one or two people have actually done it. I would search and see if you can come up with anything.

2. Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good deal.

3. 17 inch rims usually (always unless added later) indicate the sport package. Is your car a 6MT or 5AT? All 6MT's have sport suspension, 5AT's can have it as an option.

4. There are no metal side skirts. You have a few options. A lot of people simply paint the black lower sections body color. Infiniti makes a full aero kit, you can buy the side skirts already painted, you can also buy the entire kit painted (front bumper, sides, and rear diffuser piece). I found the best place for the kit is www.everythingG35.com. The entire kit ran me around $1850. I am not sure how much only the sides are. A lot of people buy the front bumper and paint the rest.

Good luck, you will find there are a number of previous Maxima owners, as it seems to be a natural progression for a lot of them. Myself included, I went from a 97 Maxima to 350Z to the G35....

thanks for the reply! just curious.....how do i know if my car is a 6MT or a 5AT? what does that stand for? im guessing it stands for 6peed manual transmission or 5 speed automatic? if thats what it is, then i have automatic transmission. my car has the stock 17 inch infiniti rims, so im hoping that i do have the sport suspension.

also, has anyone just painted their scruff guard or side skirt ? if you have, can i please see it? please post some pics....thanks !

Why go through all that trouble? There are plenty of aftermarket Navi's that are better/cheaper than the stock system. I use the Garmin C330 and I love it.

There were two different 17" wheels offered. The five spoke wheels came with the sport suspension models, the six spoke wheels came with the non-sport suspension models. Count your spokes.

You G came without a body kit, that's why the lower valences are gray. You could install a body kit to cover up the valences or color match them. The Nismo/OEM body kit is a nice choice.

Make sure you utilize the search function. There is tons of info here, you just have to know how to find it.

Yeah, I have no idea what I was thinking when I reponded. For some reason I was thinking the 03's 6 spoke was a 16" wheel....

Also, if you want the sport suspension, I am sure you can find someone willing to sell it to you. There are plenty that have upgraded and have the stock sport suspension sitting around. A lot of people run the 350Z or 350Z/G35 coupe suspension.
