One key?? I got two set of master keys with keyless remotes... a valet key and a credit card key? How did you only get one key?? O ya they threw in the bling bling infiniti emblem key chains too

If memory serves, they're about $120 USD for the key plus they'll have to recode both keys to the ECU. That will cost you something too.(I'm guessing another $50)
Yeah, how come you got only 1 key? As Daveed says, the car comes from the manufacturer with 2 masters, 2 remotes, 1 valet, and 1 credit card type key. Where did they all go????

I would certainly ask the dealer to get another key and re-program both for free seeing as you just bought it. It doesn't matter if you bought it new or used, they should be willing to take care of you. It's worth a shot. Did you buy from an Infiniti dealer? FYI, it's also a good idea to make friends with the service reps too.

atg,

The keys have chips in them. I am in the same boat as you. I just bought a 2003 sedan and it only came with one key and the valet key with the two remotes. I tried to get the used car dealer to buy me another driver key and he balked because it was going to cost him $170.00 at the Infiniti dealer.

Keys may be expensive, but the remotes can be found cheap on Ebay. They can also be programmed easily without the need for the dealer.

You buy from a small used car lot and you take your chances. Personally I would never deal with a small used car lot as they are here today but tomorrow is no guarantee.
