Anyone out there replaced 05/06 exhaust with HKS sport muffler?
The HKS has been on my sedan since 2003. I added the Motordyne plenum spacer afterwards. The HKS without the coupe mid-pipe was pretty tame. The spacer added a really nice growl. Now....when I added the coupe mid-pipe, the car came ALIVE!!!
Yes, I have had an 05 loner and the mid-pipe does add a nice growl. But the coupe middy is much more agressive!

I can't tell if there is a HP increase. If there is, it would be too small to feel via the butt dyno. BUT................the ear to ear grin is priceless!

Middy does a little............HKS + middy is key to complete the sound mod if you want a more noticable and aggresive sound.

Like my 12yo says......"that sounds tight dad"

the coupe middy reduces weight by 25 lbs or so but the sound is right. The md spacer adds hp/tq and some growl. The spacer adds at least 10hp that you feel. It's one of the modz that really works. Like Gord Gee's grounding gear. All I can say is they really work.

10-15 HP and Torque gains. This is a mod you can definitly feel with the Butt-Dyno. The best bang for the buck mod I have. Highly recommend!

User andycon has posted sound bytes of his sedan every step of his mod history. He has the same mods as I have. I'm not sure what form they are posted on. Do a search of andycons posts and you will find it.

Has your gas mileage decreased due to the spacer?

Well, you guys did it! I couldn't wait, so I had my coupe midpipe installed last night. Threw the heat shield and driveshaft "brace" in the garbage as it looked like both were going to be a problem rubbing on the new mid pipe.

I know that most of you guys don't feel comfortable without the driveshaft brace and I respect that, but I've had many high horspower cars in the past, including a 500hp Formula that I completely "snapped" the aluminum driveshaft in half on and I'm not too worried about breaking the one on the G35 which is basically stock.

I must say it's freezing out here right now so I haven't driven with the windows down yet, but you can definatley hear the difference in sound when you get on it. Still very quiet at idle and with "normal" throttle inputs.

I'd still like to hear it from outside the car with someone else driving bye, but over all I'd say a good mod for little $$$. I paid $80 for the middy and $20 for install.

Hey man you might want that brace I heard it's a big deal, if the drive shaft messes up it just falls down.........wait, just finished your whole post, I feel stupid.

I'm glad it sounds quiet with normal throttle inputs, I don't want it loud all the time.

Where do you guys find yours? Everythingg35.com has them, but don't want to pay for a brand new one, it's basically the same thing.
