I have put about 800 miles or so on my G35 Sedan (premium/aero/sport) and the car does not feel like it has as much pick up as the one I test drove initially. At first I thought it was a function of me breaking in the car. I have kept it under 4000 RPM with the occasional spike to 5000 when merging. Tonight for a test I gave it some gas for real and took it up around 6500 RPM. The acceleration is just not where I expected it to be. The one I test drove pinned me in my seat under similar circumstances. I am going to call the service department here in Orlando. How should I describe my problem so that it doesn't sound like I am being picky. Without any hard numbers I can imagine a case where they tell me it is all in my head after the mechanic does a cursory inspection and deems it to be fine.
Thanks in advance.

Get it past the 1200 marker for breakin, then drive it aggressively for a few days or do the ECU Reset thing you see posted in a few threads here. The ECU is adaptive, and tends to get a little sluggish if you drive like a granny for too long. If it's still sluggish, then definately check with your service department.

my g has jsut bout over 800 miles on it, and yet while still in the break in period the sluggishness that you mention is starting to go away as i break it in. The car just gets stronger and more responsive everytime i take it out and finish up the break in, so yea i think you should give it some more time and see how it is after the 1200 mark

Just wait until you hit 3k, it is like night and day. After your first oil change you will notice a huge difference.

Now that I think about it, I do recall thinking it felt a little sluggish about halfway through breakin up past the first oil change.
It runs like a bat out of hell now, though (7200 miles now, though it's been running strong for months).. and I've never reset the ECU.

Mine felt sluggish too, until I tried the Easy ECU Reset procedure. Very responsive now, no more sluggishness. After doing the reset, the change in performance was immediately noticed.

this probably isnt entirely the problem...but assuming that u live in florida, the weather is pretty hot and humid. If you testdrove the car at the dealership on a cool morning or at night, that g would feel quicker then the one you have now. It probably is more related to break-in though.
