I am rather pissed off at IIHS. They were supposed to rate the g35 sedan side impact and still have not done it yet. Its been several months and still no rating. WHAT ARE THEY DOING?????????????????????????????????

 

Good question. For the second half of last year they had "side impact test to be conducted in late 2005" on their site for the G35. Well, we're into the first half of 2006 and still no results...

They had the same thing for the Acura TSX, and still nothing there either...

We bot the g35x assuming side impact is 5 stars. I think it is cause the FX got 5 stars and both the g and fx are same body frame. The g has impact and side curtain bags. Any thoughts?

 

We're talking about the new IIHS side impact test, not the NHTSA test. Really, all the NHTSA tests are a joke as they don't even use all the data collected by the test dummies to calculate a rating. For example, the NHTSA side test does NOT include measurements of head injury. The IIHS test is MUCH tougher. I'm predicted an acceptable overall score with a marginal or acceptable "structure" subscore.
