Various sticky information: Please post suggestions in here!

It's very difficult to really get good info. I've tried pretty hard to search for intake/plenum/suspension/brake etc.. information. It's out there yes. But even when you are in the right thread, you have to wade though 10-15 misc (putting it gently) posts : 1 really informative post.

For this section, it would be nice to have oem fitment springs/shocks interchange sticky (ie.. from the coupe/350z) with the spring color dots, spring rates, years, amount of drop etc..

I'd REALLY like to see a oem brake interchange sticky. Especially me having a 2003 and the changes in 05/X/06.

One for wheel fitment would also be great. Sedan specific.

maxima.org has done a great job with their stickies. Just telling people to search is BS imho. I'd even offer to help write some. I'd done plenty for the maxima. But I'm not up to speed yet to do so.

Bascily, I've resorted to begging some of the gurus in their respective expertise for information. But how long will these guys be willing to write the same stuff over and over?

I've suscribed to threads that have good info in them. But again, for a thread with 40 replies, only maybe 8 of them hold any real value.

^^^+1,
i've been a member since may of 05, and i only have 50+ posts...not because i don't visit enough, it's because i spent hours searching for USEFUL info and hours reading USELESS info...sometimes i don't even bother to post because i know people will tell me to "search it" w/ an attitude...
just want to say i agree that we need better sticky info.

also, can we keep the picture threads clean w/o unnecessary comments and questions, please use PM for those...

that is all,
benjamin

We are lacking in stickies in the sedan tread but the site has been split into subforums that contain information on wheel/tires, suspension, brakes etc... being that the coupe and sedan are pretty simular in these regards (parts being interchangable) the stickies are placed in the sub forums. I do agree there need to be more stickies but you can start by creating a tread and suggesting it being made into a sticky.

The one talking about springs/shocks for the G35x would be a good one. Especially before too many posts get in there.

Dude, just do a search, and look through the 15 pages. just kidding, I agree as well, searching is a waste of time, it would be awesome if the info was right in front of our faces since so many people have gone through so much just to learn if they are doing the proper mods.

i'm sure if you write the posts a Mod will sticky them for you. I totally agree though especially when the search feature of this forum doesen't give you search results based on any Relevancy Percentage.

Here's all the information I have on the stock brakes. I believe all the types are interchangeable meaning they will bolt on. OEM wheel clearance is another story though. If there are any mistakes here feel free to correct.

'05+ Sedan and Coupe, '06 Sedan X
Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons
Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Sedan, '04 and '05 Sedan X
Front: 11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch X 0.6-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Non-Brembo Coupes
Front: 11.65-inch x 0.94-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'03 and '04 Coupe Brembos
Brembo® brakes
Front: 12.76-inch x 1.18-inch power-assisted - 4 pistons
Rear: 13.07-inch x 0.87-inch power-assisted - 2 pistons

I believe the there is a booboo on your brakes. It says 13.07 inch for the rear 03-04 coupe brembos. Which is larger than the fronts. I don't believe that is right?

We also need to sticky with an aftermarket wheels thread.

Also, a sticky regarding color.

Hmm not quite sure of the purpose of having my thread stickied. But I'll try. People. Try to find great threads that would make excellent sticky material. Like this one: Maybe if they are all in one thread, the mods can then reorganize one sticky into classifications that are secan specific: Suspension/Engine/Exerior/Interior etc... At least I THINK that's what the mod wants us to do
