13.99 @ 100.4mph today.

I just got home from Rockingham Dragway in NC. I had a total of 3 runs. The 1st I pulled 14.3 with the traction control still on The 2nd run was 14.0 at 100mph. My 3rd resulted in the above. Needless to say, I'm very happy with my 1st time running this car in the 1/4.

If your interested, the car in the left lane was a all wheel drive talon

Good numbers. I hope to break into the 13's this coming saturday. I put down 233 rwhp and 228 ft/lbs, the 04 is lighter, so hopefully I shouldn't have any problems. What rpm was you launching at? I would bet VDC is useless at the track. Oh, what was your 60ft time, its not printed on ticket.

Looks like he fell asleep at the tree and you redlighted.....

What's up with your 0.000 60' time? Something may have went wrong with the computer on this run...

This was a "Test and Tune" He was testing his car and took his time. Not bad for a 10 sec talon.

The clock starts when you move, not when the light changes. Red light or not does not affect the time. I don't know why the 60 foot time did not read. It didn't read on my 1st slip either.

As far as wrong computers...I don't think so. There was a national event there yesterday. Check their web site. Thanks for your support.

As far as launching goes, I tried a few different ways. 1. rev up to 3,000 and slip the clutch very little towards the end. 2. rev up to 4,000 and slip it from the middle to the end. This is what I did on the 3rd run.

Out of the 3 runs, do you know your 60ft time?

I owned a 10 sec car and raced it for years, so I know all about test and tune as well as the non-effect of R/T on E/T at those events.

Yea, that Talon is quick. It's odd about the 60' not registering. Cause the rest of your slip looks accurate........

I' cant wait to go to The Rock this year... I did a couple of 1/8' at Piedmont last year, now i'm ready to step up to the full 1/4 mile.

How crowded was it? Only 3 runs, how long were you there? Let us/me know when you're going so we can get a group together!

It wasn't bad. Maybe 40 cars and 20 bikes. I went with a 500+hp talon and a 600+hp bmw. Both ran into trouble - Talon busted his tranny. BMW broke his driveshaft. He was on 19's with 35' profile tires and stuck in 2nd causing the drive shaft to split. They did a great job prepping the track. It took 3 people to move the car because it was literally glued to the pavement.....I probably could have gotten in 2-3 more runs. Once it gets warm, only expect 3-4 runs on a TnT because the place gets packed.

I think its $2,500 - $3,000 to rent the track for the day. Maybe that's something we would want to consider if enough people were interested. It's $20 to run and $10 to watch on a normal day or night.

Very very nice times. And you're picking up over 22mph in the last 1/8th, which is quite good really.

BTW - what type of intake are you running?

You can probably do it cheaper by renting one lane only. We've done it with our group in one lane and another group in the other. It's actually fun that way, cause you end up making friends and running the other guys too.
