The black door handle would only look nice on a black car with tints any other car color it would look cheap.

yes i agree black door handles on any other color besides black will look cheap. i still think that the chrome window molding should be black, and the door handles can be left chrome. if we can enough interest, bat can make these for us.

I wonder who's car is in the pics. The window trim was taken off and sanded and then painted. I think the same was done on the door handles(did not actually see).
If overlays were available when I 1st got the car. I would have went the overlay route. And probably saved myself some $$$.
The car should have come in blackout/shadowline from the factory. Or should have been an option from the factory.

I do too, on a black G. But you have to go all the way. Chrome trim, grill, taillights, etc.

Vinyl overlays is a good option... my original idea was to powder coat, but after removal I realized that is not an option (molded plastic underneath the aluminum)... once I realized that I had no choice but to paint. To answer previous question "can you driver with trim off" - no, I would not suggest you drive. The handles were taken off for paint too, but with an experienced painter it isn’t necessary. Here are some more pics… I have others, but haven’t downloaded yet. Will post later if anyone is interested.

Funny, I saw this pic prior to buying my G and the day after I picked it up (last Friday) I had an estimate on painting the trim and handles. Herb's in Frisco quoted $500.00 for the job. I too think it looks great on black.

Looks good on black, sort of like the Shadowline trim on BMWs.
