Man, you can really see why dealerships absolutely love leasing cars. The leasee of a G35 typically pays about $18-20K for the car over a 3 year period, the leasee is then required to return the car in spotless condition (new tires, no scratches, very clean interior, new floor mats), and then the dealership will quickly turn around and sell the car for $24-28K with no expense to them for reconditioning. In the end, they'll have gotten $41-44K for that G35 that had a $34-38K MSRP. Wow!!!

05 G35x with sunroof, spoiler, trunk mats, splash guards
1k down
39 months/ 15k miles
$391
Who saids we have to return the car with new tires? We have had 2 leased cars and never had to put new tires on at the end of the lease.
Plus i dont think they can sell the cars after 3 yrs for 24-28k. A 1 yr old they can sell for that price, not on a 3 yr old with close to 50k miles

As for selling price, my dealership in Kansas City was asking $27-30K for used 03 G35 sedans in January 05. These cars sold in mid to late 2002 or approximately 2.5 years ago. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten them down $1,500-2,000 off those prices. Right now, across the US, used 03-03.5 sedans are selling for $23-26K and they're over 3 years old now.

Yeah given my ~440/month payment, I'll have paid, at the end of my 39-month lease, 17,160 for my G. I'll then be handing the dealer an almost 4-year-old G35 with 78K on it, and let THEM worry about trying to get rid of the thing.
If your intention is to get rid of the thing at the end of some small(ish) period of time, it's better to lease... I mean, I could buy it with a 4-year note, pay $200 more a month, and then turn around at the end of the 4 years and sell it, but then I've essentially let Infiniti finance float 15 extra grand of my money during those four years only to have to turn around and try to sell the car to get the overage (the part of the car I didn't want) back. I'd rather fork out less now and not pay up front for a portion of a car that I never intend to use.
