does anyone know a better stereo system, and how much does it cost, I had a bose system that comes with my G, but I need to feel deeper bass....., any feedback would be appreciated.
Re: stereo
I wouldn't recommend adding anything on to the stock Bose system...Bose tends to be very tight and is generally not built for bass, as far as producing a real thump...Just research some audio companies and put something together...Personally, I've decided on Audiobahn components, but the G is a company/show car for me, so that might not be the route you want to go...

Sounds good, could you provide the details?
How do you remove the dash plate, where to access the amp leads, what brand and model of equipment did you add, where did you locate the sub and amp?
Photos would be a great help to all G35 owners who desire great sound for a great car.

Dudes,
I know a little from reading the forums here. The Bose ampis behind the rear seat. The head unit only conntrols the amp in the back and feeds the audio signal, just like Bose units for your house do! The amp is a 200W Bose. There's also a sub in the back in the middle, i think a 6 or 8" cone, and the door and rear speakers are Bose. I had a friend in my car tonight with a portable DVD player hooked up to a casette tape input. The thing sounded awesome and my friend was shocked at the sound coming out of the stock speakers. he said he did not recall the Bose sounded that good so he didn't get one for his G. I also hook up my MP3 player to the casette input and man, it sounds killer, even with the MP3 player volume almost maxed out! I like the Bose and don't regret it. If I had to say anything negative, I'd agree the base could be a little more forthcoming. I'd like to put a bigger sub in the trunk hanging down from the rear deck and possibly some mid-range speakers back there too for the open trunk sound effects and for shows. I think the door speakers could handle a 400W max amp but with full volume and my hearing troubles, my wife says 11 is too loud for just the CD player!!!
I'd love some pointers on a new sub and speakers for the trunk. I actually emailed Bose and they said you can buy a Bose aftermarket amp with 400W, double the stock unit's power!!!

Re: stereo
...and BTW, i think getting a whole new system is a waste of money! You can get more power, stick with Bose, and match
your components to the stock head unit well and get the sound you desire. Now it's just difficult to find somewhere that will do it!
I'm in NW Chi Town Burbs. Anyone know somewhere from around here?

I grew up in the NW 'burbs and then moved to the city...Where in the 'burbs ya from? Oh, and don't go to Car Boutique, if you're planning on modding and going through a shop...Try GK Systems Racing up in Gurnee...

Re: stereo
I never heard of Bose offering a more powerful amp for a stock auto system. Did they give you a part # or price? Do you have to order it direct or through distributor?
For those interested in adding a sub, I have an '01 Maxima with Bose and I added a 12" Polk sub, a 240w Rockford Fosgate amp and an electronic crossover and it sounds much better that stock. I used PAC adapters that provided line outs for front and rear. Since the harnesses are all the same for Nissan and Infiniti, then it should work with the G35. Try to stay away from high/low converters, cleaner signal with line level.
