I've had my car for 3 months and only have 2500 miles on the car. Should I get the dealer to do an oil change or just wait until the 3750 as recommended...(will they even do it?)

(When you get an oil change, they always say, get one every 3k or 3 months, whichever comes first)

I'm sure the dealership will replace the oil no matter what the mileage.

I personally won't have a problem waiting 4-5 months between changes if it takes that long--especially since I'm using synthetic oil and K&N filters (change my own oil).

redwillow... good point. I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was the first oil change for the car. I did my first change (to synthetic) at 2002 miles. I know some people say to wait to switch to synthetic until later.

I haven't decided yet how long I'm going to be willing to go between changes. Probably 5 months or 4000 miles, based on my style of driving and my comfort with synthetic oil and quality oil filters..
