There is less than a 2% error in the speedometer with the 235/50/17s and a pretty good selection of tires.

I use 235/50/17s on my stock 17s- I actually recommend going with a 225-
I have Pilot XGT Z4s -Great in bad weather.
However, they are floaty and I think it's due to the tire being a bit too wide for the rim.
The difference between this setup and my stock sport wheel 18s is like night and day. The 17s feel positively sketchy by comparison. The ride is of course smoother with the 17s though.

Very interesting...pilots are sport tires but AS right? Floaty is bad. Also there could be a bulge too, correct? I am in the market for new rubber and have been battling internally about this for 2 years.

I'm 245/45 17s and they are graet but I don't have the stock rims anymore. So width was not an issue. I had the 225/50 Pilots AS...they were crap. The Toyos are so much better in all areas. Good luck. I finally got tired of Nissans stupid tires sizings and changed rims to get a tire sizes that many companys made. 245/45 17 are plentiful.

no matter wa tire you get..if the width of the tire does not match the wheels, tat is a bad combination, which I did (stoopid)

If you are not planning to switch to new 17's or higher..stick with the current setup..it is the best.

235 is wider than 225 but the stockers on 03s were 215s. You do need to make sure that the rims you have match the width of the tire-too wide of a tire and you will get a buldge to narrow and the tire is stretched both can lead to bad handling.

They are All-Seasons-Here is the tire.

yeah floaty is no good. Again, could be due to the size of the tire. So I'll give Michelin the benefit of the doubt
I agee with IQ9 on the Michelins. Not a fan, though he had a different tire.
Back in the late 80s and early 90s, I used to love the original XGTs which had a nice side-wall and wouldn't wear as quickly as the Gatorbacks.
That was the last michelin that I really liked-Haven't been impressed since.

Boris borrowed my wheels for a while and had the same things to say about that setup. They suck.
If nothing else, they wear real nice(not sure what the treadwear is off hand) and charge in the snow and rain.

I be 225/50s would be the best option if you are looking for feel and stablablity. The 235 50s look huge. Potholes? What potholes...

245 will not fit 7-inch wide rims. 235 would be as big as it gets for the factory rims. I agree Toyo's would be the best choice for tires in terms of price and quality.

Proxes 4s in 245/245 are $110 a tire give or take a buck or two. Yes, 245s are a bit much for 7" rims.
