Aero Body vs. Non

Got back from lunch, and lookey there... another BS Sedan!

Only this one doesn't have the factory aero body kit like mine. So here is a SxS comparison of the two.

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

IMO the Aero does not look very nice in any other color but white. I have a TB sedan, and can't see adding anything that would ruin the natural look of the G. Not to mention drilling holes into the trunk to add a wing. The only item I would ever think about installing is a lip spoiler to finish the trunk. The G look fine as it is.

I came out of Home Depot the other day and noticed another
Twlight Blue sedan in the parking lot. As I was driving out, I
drove past it to admire. It had a spoiler and I had been thinking
about adding one. Well.. this sedan looked really different.
I think it had the full aero kit on it. After examing it for a while,
I came to the conclusion that it looked "funny". It had a
different rear and front bumper. Actually I like
my stock Twlight Blue sedan better. I will not be adding a
spoiler after all. Think I like the classy clean look of the
standard G35 sedan better.

Well... to each their own I have had nothing but compliments. Everyone I've taken for a ride says that they like the factory full body kit over the regular sedan. Its looks a little more "aggressive" and "meaner". All good words on the SoCal freeways.

Different perspectives are good. I like mine, you like yours...now let's go beat the tails off some Bimrs.

Cheers, Ted

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

Dude post some side views too so the difference is more discernable. I personally like the aero kit , but the dealer says its go to have aero and sports in it which i really dont care for. Look at all teh ads and all the cars on the dealers lot without the aero kit and still looks classy to me. May get factory side sills for 800 instead of 2500+ for the kit. But, anyway as you said to each his own

hey cato... i saw a twilight blue sedan today. it didn't have the aero body kit (had a regular front bumper on it) but it had a spoiler. i think that color looks better without the spoiler too.

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

I saw one with a full aero body in the dealer as I was shopping for my G. As a matter of personal taste, I couldn't stand it. The lines were overdone, the bottom looked bloated and clipped-on, and the spoiler on back is overboard.

I think the happy medium is the simple aero package on the standard G sedan. Small spoiler, and that's it.

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

I'm going to hook with some other G35driver's this saturday (9/6) out in woodland hills. I am sure I'll find a friendly BS sedan who will be up to SxS comparisons. The other sedan at work is not too friendly. (must have been a BMW in another life)

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

I think my car looks fine the way it is. I painted my lowers so that helps a lot. I also went the CHEESY route and stuck carbon fiber sticker to the middle line in the lower grill to make a "hole" effect like the Nismo kit. What are your thoughts?

Here's a good side view for you. I might be biased, but I think the body kit makes it much better looking. And yes I do realize mine is lowered and has aftermarket wheels, but I still think it's good for comparing. Also keep in mind that the top photo is a professional shot from the Infiniti site.

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

I think it looks pretty good. I took my car over to a body shop to get an estimate on getting my lowers painted and they quoted me ~$1000. The guy also told me that there was no guarantee that the paint would even stick to the lowers. If you do not mind saying, would you tell me what painting the lowers costed you? did the shop tell you that the paint would not stick to the lowers?

Thanks,
Louis

Re: Aero Body vs. Non

I asked a body shop about it. I didn't get a price from them, they cited the paint peeling problem as well, and didn't give me a quote.

I've heard approx. $500 from other forum members. Shop around if you still want to do it.
