Fuel smell when tank is full

Fuel smell when tank is full
2nd time it's happened. Fill tank. Drive home. Park in garage. Come out later and there's a fuel smell. Already had the dealer perform the latest recall for the related fuel hose. But it's still there. Anyone else experience this?
I even put the rear on ramps and dug around under the car but couldn't find anything.

I'm pulling this from a foggy memory but I remember someone mentioning a bad injector causing this on their car..?
I had this problem (fuel smell) too but it was right after some work I had done (fuel level sender unit replaced) and it went away after a while. In my case it was in the cabin, and it was while driving.
Sorry I can't help more... Maybe you could do some homework on the faulty injector thing. ?!

Full = no topping off. But even if I did top it once, there should be no smell when I park it in the garage. As there are 5-10 miles inbetween the station and the garage.
Sorry about the comment. Shoes comment looked to be a crack as it was pretty left field. So one should quantify an odd comment with some history or additional explaination. (ie.. what you posted in your 2nd reply)

There is a connector at the fuel dampner hose on the rh side of the car that is at the bottom of the firewall. I've seen 2-3 cars seeping at this connector.
Since you smell the odor but there is no SES light this tells me it has to be in the pressurised part of the system. Otherwise the ECU would detect the leak & set the SES light.
Hope this helps.

I don't think it's the fuel pump o-ring either as the smell isn't inside the car. Yes the smell was present before/after the recall.
I'll have to check the fuel dampener connector/hose. I assume it's towards the front of car, down in the engine bay(firewall). The odd thing is when I open the hood, I don't smell anything. But it certainally wouldn't hurt to look. Is it easier to see from the top or bottom of the car?
